Brilliant atmosphere and the staff were very friendly, food was good apart from the roast potatoes seemed frozen, very hard and dry. Meat selection brilliant and desserts were amazing. The only thing that would have made it 100% worthy of 5 stars would be home made roast potatoes. But in all a lovely family meal

Staff were disinterested, carvery was very good. Puddings were average, roulade ruined by cheap icecream sauce.

A popular carvery Sunday lunch, offering generous portions and speedy service. The Foldgate was busy when we visited at 4.30pm, there was a brief wait to be seated, we were showed to our table, served our drinks, made our choices at the carvery, ate our meals, we chose a pudding (albeit we first had an odd conversation with a waitress about what size plate my 9 year old step daughter had her lunch served on, like she might have eaten an adult portion ?), ate the pudding, paid (£48, okay for 2 adults, a child and 3 soft drinks) and left all in 45 minutes. It was busy when we left too (a steady stream of people were coming in).The food was alright overall; the highlight was the Yorkshire pudding and the gravy, but the rest was fairly average and my roast gammon was a bit sinuey. It was okay, not a bad place to visit, but there are better.

Lovely carvery, well cooked food. Service a little slow, but nice not to be hurried. Only criticism is the blunt

We went for our Boxing Day traditional meal out and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The food was amazing the atmosphere was great and the service outstanding. Staff were friendly and inviting. We will definitely book again for next year We will not be going anywhere else.Parking: Parking was easily accessible with plenty of spaces. We went on Boxing Day there were plenty of people therefore no difficulty in parking.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly - nothing wad too much trouble.Wheelchair accessibility: We took our disabled son and the accessibility was very good. The only issue was the toilets even though they have a disabled cubicle there were no grab rails and I couldn't get his wheelchair in to shut the door.

The foldgate inn is lovely inside, you have the quaint pub on one end and the lovely dining area on the other side of the fire place. The staff were lovely and accommodating to our party and their needs. The food (especially the hand made chips) was lovely, I would highly recommend
Delicious Sunday lunch! Good value. Pleasant atmosphere.

Popped in for a drink, first time in there, and everyone was warm and welcoming. The landlord and lady have recently taken over and were so friendly and personable. I really hope they do well and that they thrive at their new pub. Lovely placeWill definitely go back to eat and enjoy the kids' play area with my children.Kid-friendliness: Lovely play park at the back of the pub.
