We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and were shown to a nice window table overlooking the river inside the restaurant. They were very quiet that lunchtime, but the friendly staff were excellent and we had a lovely 2 course lunch. The food was served with appropriate timings and was very well flavoured and prepared. Highly recommended.

I would recommend anyone wanting to eat here to phone ahead and book. We went on spec while holidaying in King's Lynn. It was a Wednesday evening shortly before 7pm and the place was closed. More than that it didn't appear to be trading anymore. There was no menu outside and no indication of when the restaurant was open. It had every appearance of being permanently closed.

Charming low-beamed restaurant overlooking the river with great view, especially when the tide is high. The service was smiley-faced and prompt and their mushroom soup with croutons and French bread and butter was delicious. Tea for two, cappuccino and a slice of their Victoria sponge just hits the spot when you've been shopping or sightseeing around Lynn ?

Lovely meal, really lovely staff! I only took away one star as it took a while to get a hold of them too make a booking. As their phone lines where down. So get in contact over Facebook. Also heart radio was blasting but we were the only ones in ahah added photo of opening hours as they seem to be different online x

Good food and excellent service. Only 4 tables had customers. Hopefully a blip because of the fair. Would hate to see them close down.

Thank you so much for our lovely meal and welcome and experience one Saturday evening with our lovely poodle using our charity voucher I had won

Lovely restaurant by the river, so much character! Dark exposed beams and trusses with white painted ceiling panels. Nicely complemented by the lighter stained wooden tables and floor. The soft palette of white and light grey on the walls makes it feel bright and airy. The food was really good! Starter of shrimp and leek tart, with local brown shrimps, had a well balanced combination of flavours and was very tasty.Main of strips of monkfish with chorizo. Very well executed. The combination of flavours was great and the sauce delicious. Had I been at home I would have been dipping on that delicious sauce with bread! Both a starter and main had a beautiful combination of flavours and textures, the main in particular. My only nibble, the portion was a bit on the small side for a main. They probably know that so it was accompanied by a good size portion of chips. My dessert of double chocolate cheesecake was to die for and a fitting end to a delicious meal.In brief, a lovely restaurant with very good food. It has a very relaxing and comfy vibe, the staff are great and service first class. Special mention to Grace, she was just superb!

Thought I would try the Riverside Restaurant tonight (Wednesday15 Nov). Checked this app. All good with previous reviews and open. Arrived outside the Guildhall and “A” frame on the pavement again confirmed its open. Checked the menu just inside the alley way. Still good as menu looked okay . Walked further down the alley to the River. Looking worrying as very dark. Tried the door and clearly closed. Disappointing journey and no offer despite all indication the restaurant was open. Please update for future customers. Would have scored zero for the experience but cannot do!! Poor advertisement for King’s Lynn visitors.

Lovely restaurant tucked away behind Shakespeare Barn overlooking the river. What a hidden gem! The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. We went as part of Restaurant Week and were not disappointed, probably the best we have been to all week. The food was outstandingly good, relatively unpretentious and beautifully presented. So impressed we booked for next week too! Our rating 10+/10

Just called in hoping to get a table and we're fortunate that it was quiet on a thursday. Lovely looking out over river and food was excellent. When next in KL will definitely return.

Based on our experience 2 years ago we booked a table prior to our arrival in Kings Lynn for a Saturday evening. The menu choice although limited was first class and I was pleased that they still had the Arbroath Smokies starter which is delicious. I had Sea Bass as my main, which again was very tasty. My wife had prawn and crayfish cocktail for starter and a chicken strips in creamy sauce. The food is excellent, prices reasonable staff very friendly with great service. We would be back the next visit to Kings Lynn without a doubt.

Excellent food, the Sea Bass was fantastic. The service was very good, with a very pleasant and friendly waitress. Great view over the River Ouse, watched the little ferry crossing the river

Just had lunch here and thoroughly recommend it. Bright and friendly service, lovely lunch and reasonable prices. Tucked away, but well worth the effort to find it, would eat here again without hesitation.
