i have tried booking a table for a meal here but nobody answers the phone, they must lose a lot of business because of this.

I stayed in The Duke's Head recently and it was a very pleasant stay, the room was a good size and the en- suite was clean and tidy.My stayed came with breakfast included, there was a good choice of cooked food, cereal, fruit and pastries on offer and the staff were very friendly and diligent.

It's quite sad reading some of these reviews I can only say a lot seems to have changed ,I worked there many years ago ,it was beautiful food was excellent service had to be good otherwise we would be reprimanded we had to be very respectful Regardless oof what happened the customer was always right ,it was spotless ,we worked very hard ,the hotel had a very good reputation .at one time sandringham house was having renovations so royal overspill stayed there ,the queen came in to check everything out .It's unfortunate things have gotten bad .I guess times change .Noteworthy details: Times have changed

Three night stay to explore King’s Lynn. Only in a budget room, hence 4 stars as felt it rather basic. Otherwise a comfortable stay. Conveniently positioned hotel giving easy walking access to the town centre and local attractions. Bed only so no experience of meals. Beautifully appointed lounges and bar facilities. Will definitely return, next time in a better room.Nearby activities: Perfectly situated in King’s Lynn for easy walking access to the town centre & local attractions

Do not Eat here !!!.Visited for a special occasion dinner, wow.!!!. Genuinely never had an experience like it..Checked the menu and enquired what the winter veg was to be told I don't know, the chef just said it's winter veg..!!!.Not the most difficult question I didnt think but couldn't get any other answer. So we gambled and had the pie and waited to see what the mysterious veg selection would be...Carrots and broccoli so nothing to exciting..When the pie turned up we looked and asked for gravy to be told that gravy is an extra and didn't come with the pie..So dry pie it is then.!!!!.You will not find gravy as a side order on the menu so not unreasonable to expect it to come with dinner.Whole experience ruined, told the lady on reception on the way out ,she smiled and said have a nice night..We will, but never again here !!!.Avoid....

After staying here through a work trip in October and having a great experience, I booked a 2 night stay with my partner. We live in Lancashire so it’s a good 4 hours drive. Unfortunately when we got there the room we were originally allocated was not acceptable, the towel rail in the bathroom was falling off and not safe. There was a broken bathroom floor tile and the shower screen didn’t close properly along the bath, it was also full of mould. We asked to change rooms, which the staff did without hesitation. Although the second room was in a better condition it wasn’t to the standard of the price we paid. The room was extremely cold, the pillows were rock hard and given myself and my partner a bad neck since. We wasn’t told what time breakfast was served so had to ask. It’s very disappointing when I hyped up the rooms that I stayed in only a couple of months before and paid less for (most likely because of the business director who booked it). If it wasn’t for the location and the breakfast (which was fantastic), It would have been a very disappointing stay. Kings Lynn however is a lovely place to go, but I think we’ll be staying in the Wetherspoons across the road next time.Rooms: Not at all to the standard it shows in the pictures on the website. We originally got put in room 28 and then moved to 26. Level 3.Nearby activities: Plenty of sites to see in walking distance if you like your history. Also a cinema near by, swimming etc although we didn’t do these.Walkability: There’s plenty of shops on your doorstep for a good look around and sites to exploreFood & drinks: Fantastic pub next door for good music and cheap drinks (only £1 more a round than the Wetherspoons). The Wetherspoons is also across the road and a great place to be.The breakfast at the Dukes head was the one thing I will say was great, no complaints at all.

The Dukes Head hotel looks stunning from the main square in all its sender at Christmas ? (see photo) parking was tight around the back of the hotel, the large carpark at the front is £10 a day to park be warned. But OMG the rooms at the back of the hotel are not worth the money. The room we had 114 had mould marks along the wall near the bed (see photos) where the shower ? has obviously leaked thru the wall, once I took a shower I understood why as the shower did not drain and overflowed all over the floor. The sink also would not drain, the lighting was very dull, the room was cold and the heating ? further back in the hotel where our room was, was as useful as a chocolate fire guard. If you stay my advice would be to ask for the front rooms of the hotel you will not regret it. The bar closed at 11 on a Saturday night and no fire was lit on a very cold December day and evening. TBH I think a hotel like this in the centre of the town should have a real fire lit in the lounge to welcome you in as you come back on a cold night. Breakfast was adequate but we waited 20 minutes to be asked our order as the staff were busy putting away the breakfast service which made us feel as if we were imposing ... we were told on check-in breakfast was until 10:30 with check out @11, we went for breakfast at 9:45 and had chairs being dragged and rearranged around us as we ate breakfast ummmm did not make us feel great ?. In conclusion a great looking hotel with a lot of potential, but was so poor overall on our visit.Rooms: No WiFi in the back rooms at all you need 4G

Stayed in a feature room bed room was good but the bathroom could do with some work with broken flooring that creaks when you walked on it. Breakfast was poor for the price hash browns that you could not cut mushrooms that looked deep fryed and the sausage must be the cheapest on the

A bit outdated. Food service stops early so dont expect to eat if arriving after 21:00. Rooms looking shabby and generally hotel has clearly seen better days. However the staff are excellent went out of their way to arrange an early breakfast as restaurant doesnt open till 7:30 and we had to be gone by then.
