First time visit on Saturday- we were really excited and hoping for something extraordinary. And we got it! The food was a succession of flavours and textures that simply exceeded all our expectations. Staff were really friendly and efficient but ultimately the evening was down to Lewis King and his amazing ability to create wonderful dishes. We had the long menu of 8 courses: each dish seemed to build on the previous and all were divine, for example, I did not know what to expect for garden pea, seeds and herbs, what I got was a gorgeous whipped moose with roasted nuts, truffle oil and herbs that just blew me away. As we finished our final course of dark chocolate, cherry and peanuts, my wife and I both felt we had experienced something truly special. I cannot recommend The Old Bank highly enough! The only down side - and I realise it is a difficult thing to try and police - was the table that came in well after us that had four people hell bent on getting drunk and making sure anyone nearby knew how much they were spending and (expletives deleted) enjoying themselves. Luckily, we finished our superb meal before they could significantly ruin our evening but another couple left because of them.

We had a really nice meal at The Old Bank, celebrating our mother's birthday. Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly passionate staff and delicious food. We went for the larger menu and so glad we did. Only one of the courses was just nice, the others we either really nice or exceptional! There were 2 outstanding courses, the potato, truffle with seeds and the pineapple, greek yoghurt with fennel. There was no talking amongst us three over these two courses, just random sounds of delight and amazement with lots of head nodding. We were so glad we chose this place for a celebratory treat.

Everything is perfect. We had the 5 course taster menu and the food, every course, was to die for, can’t even pick my favourite as it was all so good. The restaurant is beautiful, not crowded, not rushed but calm, great lighting, fabulous staff. Thank you so much Aga and Lewis, we had such a lovely night.

The old bank never disappoints. Our most recent visit was as good as ever.There are two tasting menus to choose from, 5 or 7 courses plus a couple of drinks snacks and an optional cheese course. Every course was a triumph.The wine list continues to improve. There’s a good selection of wines at pretty reasonable prices.In terms of value, this place is excellent. I think it’s probably the best value tasting menu I have ever found.The service is very special. It’s an owner managed business so expect a passion for keeping the customers happy and an enthusiasm for the quality of what they serve. All the staff are super friendly and helpful.I cannot recommend highly enough.
