We were a party of 17. Every single person said their food was excellent; great choice on menu, generous portions and all delicious. Perfectly cooked fresh vegetables brought to table in side dishes - all piping hot. Staff were really friendly and efficient. Was a great touch for chef to come round at end of service to check everyone enjoyed their meal. Decor is really classy and everywhere immaculately clean. Overall a fantastic dinning experience! We'll be back.

Best gluten free roast dinner I have ever had!! First time in 6 months since I’ve had a roast dinner that had gluten free Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, stuffing and roasties - and you wouldn’t be able to tell it was gluten free, fabulous!! The staff were all absolutely lovely would 100% recommend

Booked last minute, so expected a bit of a wait, but service was friendly and efficient. Food was so tasty, lovely to find a great local pub with excellent food. We were sat in the restaurant - it was nicely busy providing a good atmosphere, but not overwhelmingly noisy. Will definitely visit again

We picked the Windmill from TripAdvisor as a good place for lunch on the way to Norwich The decor in the busy restaurant was attractive and there was good choice available. We chose Pie of the Day which was a tasty chicken pie with quality pastry and followed with lemon tart. Service was very good. A very pleasant lunch - we will return

Lovely, clean country pub. The food was very well priced, the staff couldn't have been better. Didn't have to wait long for all our meals, which were all served simultaneously despite variety of orders, from beef brisket to sizzling platters. Would thoroughly recommend a visit

During our short visit to Norfolk we'd been trying to find somewhere 'special' for dinner. We were not disappointed. The pub itself is delightful with a beautiful restaurant at the back. The young man behind the bar was extremely welcoming. We found out later that the owners were his grandparents. We ordered whitebait and stilton pate for starters, both of us following with brisket of beef. Be warned! The portions are huge! Everything was presented beautifully and was equally delicious. The chef even comes out to check if you're enjoying your meal - very rare these days. We finished with a dessert to share as we couldn't manage one each. Again, it was perfection. The lady who served us was also very pleasant and professional. We assume they may have been the owners. It was a fab occasion and so nice to see food and service 'being done right!'. In the trying times ahead, we wish them every success, as we will definitely return if we visit Norfolk again. Superb! ☺️☺️

A really nice gastro pub. Meal was great, much nicer than a regular bar meal. A real asset to the area. Surprisingly good value as well. Staff great. Nice gins too

I would like to say a huge thank you to Scooby and friends for helping me the last time l visited. My car tyre was flat and they were so helpful. They repaired the tyre with the foam and then made arrangements for me to get to a tyre company in Swaffham. Everyone was so kind that day. Plus it was lovely food and a beautiful setting.

Given its out of the way rural location this is an excellent restaurant. With a good menu, very tasty food, real ales, friendly and accommodating service plus smart decor we thoroughly recommend the Windmill.

Booked in for 2pm lunch after completing a 2.5 hr walk around Castle Acre. We were all hungry and certainly not disappointed with the excellent starters, main, & desserts. Staff are very friendly & nothing was too much trouble.

We were looking for somewhere different for our Friday night out dinner, and boy did we strike gold. The Windmill Inn is essentially the village pub that someone had the genius to bolt on a restaurant with a master chef. We booked a table for eight o'clock, arrived early and were invited to peruse the menu while we had a drink in the nearly full bar. The menu is not huge, but everything on it is created with skill and passion, fresh in the kitchen. We had white bait and stilton pate followed by the charred chicken and the pie. Don't have the pate, please don't have the pate, I want some left for when we return. The food was delicious, the prices very reasonable and the table lay out just right. I would like to finish by mentioning the staff. They can make or break a restaurant. The staff here made us feel like returning friends ( I do hope that will happen). We were served promptly by the very pleasant ladies, our drinks in the bar were just added on to the bill without asking, they checked everything was all right, then left us alone. Finally the chef himself roamed the tables checking everybody was happy.....we all were. THANK YOU Windmill Inn. A brilliant place to visit.

Had a lovely meal. Portion size was sensible and service was excellent. Small downside perhaps is we had a little bit of waiting time but that I'm sure is because it's popular. Would like to go again to try out some other choices on the menu.

Took my folks for a lovely lunch with my partner. Food was wonderful and the service was fantastic. Even the owner/chef came round to see how things were. Definitely recommend a visit.
