Wow what an absolutely amazing place. We had lunch with friends on Saturday and the food was excellent, everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere and views are incredible. It was so good that we went back today for Sunday lunch and all I can say is OH MY DAYS. It was absolutely incredible and those Yorkshire Puds are just a piece of heaven. Thank you to all the team as we were celebrating our 25 wedding anniversary.

We four enjoyed our food, but it was disappointing in a number of ways. A couple of items which we wanted were not available on the menu. Prices were high, but the food was good. However, as a supplementary £5 for 3 giant prawns is too much. No finger bowls provided. Spirits were expensive. January is not perhaps the best month to visit as there was little atmosphere and Cromer was quite empty. Many, many shops closed - hopefully reopening, but quite sad really. Even the church was shut for repair work. The cold weather doesn't help. We eat regularly at The Red Lion, but somehow it wasn't as good as usual.

We were staying in the hotel and therefore ate here one evening. Food was very good, and service friendly and professional. Breakfast was also excellent, with a good variety and well cooked.

Been in this pub in the bar area several times for a drink but booked a table for Sunday lunch in the restaurant. Good was amazing. Staff friendly & attentive. Definitely going back in the summer. Dog friendly with a doggie menu.

We had booked a table for 1.45. We were seated promptly. We ordered a roast beef and a roast gammon followed by cheese cake and a baileys and raspberry brioche pudding. The food was excellent. We had a bottle of merlot to accompany our food. The restaurant was really busy. The toilets are clean and the fun stats on the chalk boards made me smile. There are some lovely photographs in the restaurant and from our table you could see the sea.

My parents booked a table for Christmas Eve lunch back in October which we were all looking forward to. When we arrived we were rudely told that our booking had been cancelled and this was certainly not the case. As it was for Christmas Eve and supposed to be special, we had checked the booking was correct in advance. We had clear email confirmation which we provided. At the time of booking, it was also confirmed that a specific table could be reserved. On arrival, we were told that they never do this! Some huge errors had clearly been made here on their part but at no point was a proper apology made. I was genuinely shocked at how we were spoken to like it was our fault. I have previously worked in customer service for many years and would never have spoken to customers in that manner. The most shocking thing is that this was from the lady in charge! We were told that she had been busy but this is absolutely no excuse for how we were treated. Unfortunately, we had nowhere else to go on Christmas Eve with everywhere being booked up so reluctantly accepted the table they offered us. My soup was far too salty and the food in general very average and overpriced. The male waiter who served us was professional and kindly removed the drinks from the bill. Unfortunately, we all felt that this did not reflect the awful service we initially received and therefore would never return.

Booked a table for a relaxing Christmas Eve lunch for the family only to be told very rudely on arrival that there was no record of the booking . I had the confirmation clearly showing on my phone that it was booked in early October . No apology was offered by the lady who told us she was to in charge. We had also been promised a particular table by the member of staff who originally took our booking in October but were now told in a very offhand manner that this is never offered. There happened to be a free table, although not in the area that we had booked and as it was Christmas Eve and busy we reluctantly accepted this. The gentleman who served us at the table was vey polite and professional and our drinks were removed from the bill. Unfortunately this experience had already ruined the whole feel of the day and put a real downer on the occasion. We felt guilty that it had been spoilt for our family . We have no desire to return.

Lovely seaside pub, Didn’t eat here but food looked lovely and well priced! The pub was clean and modern! Good range of drinks and dog friendly would go again when we are next on holiday

Always great food and service. Our favourite in Cromer and dog friendly too! We used to come and eat here on our holidays to Norfolk. Now we are lucky enough to have moved to Norfolk this year Cromer is our local seaside town. We had a wonderful mid December Sunday lunch at the Red Lion with friends and our puppy. Fabulous beef “as it comes” excellent veg selection services with it. The service here is excellent, friendly and helpful. It’s a real bonus being able to have the dog with us as well making this our favourite place to eat in Cromer. My husband loves the selection of ales and recommendations from the excellent bar staff. Probably our 5 visit this year and we are never disappointed. See you again soon!

We stayed here for two nights in this beautiful grand hotel. We had the very best stay. There was nothing to fault. Our room was breathtaking with the most amazing sea views from our bedroom suite and the bathroom housed within the turret . Beautifully decorated with all home comforts. The bed and pillows were excellent. We also ate abundant breakfasts which ingredients are sourced locally and very delicious. Lunch’s and dinners were equally as tasty. Bellied pork bites are amazing as was the roasted lamb Sunday lunch. What really makes this lovely place stand out are the competent, helpful and friendly staff. They made our stay even more pleasurable. We will return as soon as we are able.

Plenty of fish on the menu but quite limited beyond that as we weren't looking for fish. Chicken and chorizo and duck were solid choices with decent veg and dauphinoise-esque potato. Busy, especially in the bar and quite a lot of noise carried into the restaurant. Staff were efficient and friendly enough. Prices at the top end of what I'd expect to pay

We had a warm and friendly welcome. Lovely cosy atmosphere with a large selection of ales. Good menu choice with special board and local sea food. Food was prepared quickly and was piping hot and good value. My second visit in a couple of months. Would def recommend if you are staying in Cromer.

As a couple we are a carnivore and a vegetarian. Ordered fresh bread and confit garlic, garlic butter and balsamic & olive oil, rolls arrived frozen still! They fixed it quickly but was thinking doesn’t bode well if you can heat a roll!! Btw confit garlic was fab. Main course was tomahawk pork chop and beet risotto, Chop was lovely, croquettes dry but ok, beet risotto was undercooked, was feeling persecuted at this stage but waiter was fab, returned with a cooked risotto which was cooked ok and tasted alright, nothing amazing! Sadly the bill didn’t reflect the issues we’d had, nothing discounted, not even a gratis glass of wine, which would have been a nice gesture. Paid £73 for above food plus 2 pints and a glass of wine we thought was poor value.

Visited with mum and stayed at The Red Lion for 2 nights. This was our second Visit and we were upgraded FOC to a twin Sea View room. Room was lovely and had everything we needed including Tea and coffee, towels and toiletries. Views were amazing. Breakfast was really good with quality produce and friendly staff. My only negative is the lack of seating in the evening for a drink. We have been visiting this pub over the last 10 years and loved to sit in the lounge with the dogs having a drink, however this side of the pub is now reserved for eating. My mum is 80 years old and doesn’t want to stand in a bar having a drink and so we had to take our drinks to our rooms, there is a conservatory however this is at the back of the pub and feels disconnected. I’m sure we will be back next year but would love to be able to sit in the lounge area and enjoy a drink next time ??
