Having booked a table, my wife and I arrived to mayhem in a seriously overcrowded pub. We queued, presented our email booking and watched as our table was given to an unbooked customer. I pointed out my booking on their tablet, but it was ignored. We were asked if we'd accept a makeshift table in the hallway outside the toilet and garden exit... Absolutely not: I booked in advanced and they ignored my booking. The manager was out of his depth; The booking system was a joke and ultimately ruined our evening. The system isn't working in this pub.

Had table booked but gave our table to someone else. The place was complete chaos

Food was lovely and good value. We had the light lunch which was a good portion. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Only drawback for us was that there were dogs in there that kept barking. Otherwise highly recommend.Parking: Didn't need to park thereKid-friendliness: Seems to be a garden with outside seating and play area.

Returned to The Bull to sample the new lunch menu and we both chose burgers (I had previously tried). Sure enough they were lovely, fresh and tasty (best burger in Norwich IMHO) with nice fries well presented and importantly attentive and prompt service with a particular mention to Emily and Amy, would heartily recommend..???

The decor is lovely and very relaxing. The staff are attentive and friendly. I had the steak sandwich made with focaccia bread and red onion chutney, fries and salad with a pot of gravy, my father had the same. It was incredible value and very tasty. We will be back again!

Visited The Bull yesterday for Sunday lunch. I was surprised it was so empty. Once the food arrived I realised why. We both ordered the roast beef. It was awful. The food was not only tepid but of very poor quality. I`m really not sure what was worse - the soggy lump of parsnips, the strange tasting gravy, potatoes that tasted like it wasn`t their first outing or the small spoonful of concrete like mash. We did not complain as I assumed the plate would just be shoved in the microwave which wouldn`t have solved the quality. My partner had half a bitter - it was cloudy. I have given two stars because the staff were pleasant enough and the restaurant itself is nicely presented. Shame about the food. Will not be returning.

The pub is nice, the staff are absolutely lovely. There is a nice choice of beers on draught. Unfortunately the food was absolutely revolting and put a dampener on my experience there. Honestly the worst pub food I’ve ever had. I barely are any of it, unfortunately didn’t get the chance to say anything as it was so busy.

Went for our Christmas work meal today (19/12/2023) ... very friendly staff from arrival. Had the Festive Set Menu, which had been pre-booked (main & dessert, but there's an option to have a starter) Chose the hand carved turkey for main, which was really nice & enjoyed very much. For dessert I had the caramelised biscuit & berry, which also very nice. Service was fantastic & so we're the staff. Thank you ?

I was impressed by the new decor since this pub became The Bull again after being The Chestnut Tree for a while. However the menu was disappointing especially if you happen to be vegetarian or vegan. I did give my feedback to the staff who were good but the food was not very hot and was poor value for money. Bring back our old Bull menus please so that I can return to my local pub.

Only popped in for a pot of tea. A lot of people are in for food. Menu has good variety, but it's a bit pricey. It has a feel of restaurant, not pub atmosphere. Staff

Myself, husband and two of our friends each had a roast lunch. It was cold, aunt Bessie Yorkshire pudding, frozen vegetables. Stuffing was so small that I couldn't find it. Roast potatoes were small and burnt. Paid extra for cauliflower cheese and that was not fresh but frozen, it was watery and tasteless. It was very cold in there , no heating on but that went with our meal, cold

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my Dad's birthday and a few drinks. Really friendly service, great food and reasonably priced drinks. Would recommend the roast and keen to go back soon.

Lovely relaxed meal. Everyone was happy, smiling and polite. The menu is not huge which is great and makes it easier to choose. I had a beautifully cooked steak and my my partner had sausages and mash. All perfectly cooked. We bith a had a lovely hot crumble for desert. Will definitely be back.

Excellent food and brilliant service The penguin although not what we requested was brilliant (I admit asking for a live penguin was a stretch, and in fairness to them all efforts where made to acquire one)
