We came to visit the half moon inn for my birthday getaway, we received great customer service from the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Libby & Nicole and shown to our room ( 10 )The room was cute and had everything we needed for a cosy stay.We had dinner later in the conservatory and I must say the meals were amazing, my partner had the mixed grill and I had the steak and Stilton pie.Now when I tell you the portions were huge, I really mean it!Don’t expect to leave hungry, I was put straight into a food coma!I really really recommend coming here for a visit, whether it be to stay the night or just for dinner.Try the pie, it won’t disappoint!!The chefs know their way around the kitchen, yum!Breakfast was just as lovely, cooked fresh and quickly served up by Aimee & Jenny. We will definitely visit here again :)I also just want to thank the owner who gave myself and my partner a complimentary drink as it was my birthday.Guys you’re smashing it!I only ask you upgrade your teabags to Yorkshire haha.P.s My only reason for giving the room a 4 out of 5 stars is our bathroom radiator didn’t work, so it was rather chilly. The bedroom was perfect tho!

Went for dinner recently at this lovely village pub. Was warmly greeted by both Carson and Libby. Libby also waited on us. We were seated at a table next to the warm fireplace (which was much appreciated as it was a cool night). It was great to have the assistant manager, Natalie, recommend us particular meals to try. We will definitely be coming back for food in the future!!

Visited today for an evening meal and drink. Service was first class and the staff were friendly and efficient throughout. The meal was extremely filling, so much so we had to decline a sweet! The menu was fairly priced and had a very good choice of dishes to choose from.

What a great Inn! The pinnacle of what a English country pub should be. Locals enjoying laughs over a pint, and lots of space for those who are dining. The squid starter was cooked to perfection and chicken on hanging skewers was good. Kids enjoyed tasty homemade pizza. Would be great to see a pasta dish in the future? The staff have been trained well and worked hard please. Will definitely visit again sometime soon. Well done team.

My husband & I went here last night for a Sat eve " Date night"...I had pre-booked that morning, on arrival we were seated at a corner table in the bar area which was quite dark & extremely noisy once a large group of local " Toffs" came in with several dogs which 1 of the dogs kept coming up to our table when we were eating, the owner saw this but seemed more interested in their own enjoyment than us being bothered by their dog! There was another table nearby with 2 big dogs which everytime someone walked in or past 1 of the dogs was deep barking constantly & trying to get to whoever...I know this is a dog friendly Pub & we own 2 dogs ourselves ( which we left at home ) but felt there was more dogs in the Pub throughout as there were lots more coming in all the time..Maybe it's just us but if we go out for a nice meal we don't expect to have dogs barking & pestering us whilst there & personally think if you want to take your dog to the Pub then they should be outside rather than inside annoying others, we noticed there was lots of outdoor seating available where these people could have sat.The food was superb as was the service apart from 1 young male Waiter who saw that my husband had finished his meal & came to clear the plates...I was visibly still eating yet he tried to take my plate & then said Oh I'll give you a couple more minutes...nothing like being rushed.Would not come here again purely for the fact of all the noisy dogs inside which was very off-putting & the bunch of loud locals shouting in front of our table.Another point I think needs to be considered is not everyone likes dogs, some ppl ( myself included ) can be allergic to certain hairy dogs which set off an Asthma attack so was pleased to leave!
