A fabulous pub, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, great food and not expensive. The Fish finger sandwich was recommended by a friend and the legends were All true, this creation has to be tried to be believed.

Small limited menu although it was a Tuesday. No specials, no pies. Service was ok. Either no experience as didn't know menu to well. Looks a nice pub though. Lots of chefs on for size of menu and pub. Mussels starter. Had better. Just little touches could make experience better. Had to ask for butter for rolls. Came out of fridge solid. Had higher expectations that's for menu pricing. The burger was very filling and tasty though..

Went last night for dinner, and would thoroughly recommend a meal out here - the food was superb.Lovely choices, so much so that we couldn’t resist having three courses!Friendly staff, nice and clean, and a good vibe.Enjoyed it so much, booked to come back already!

First visit to the Ostrich today knowing they had come under the stewardship of the Drifters Team in Fakenham, just like the Red Lion Lounge. We were certainly not disappointed and it will not be our last visit! From the moment we pulled into the car park we were impressed by the aesthetics of the rear of the site. We were greeted by warm smiles and friendly chat & given options of where to sit as it was later in the afternoon. The service all the way through was nothing short of exceptional, nothing was any trouble and recommendations of the roasts were certainly true. The food was delicious and plentiful. The beef was beautifully cooked, the veg much the same & awesome yorkshire puds. No leathery roast potatoes here either, all crisp & fluffy. Desserts were just as good. The Pecan pie was to die for! All in all, we highly recommend the Ostrich and are already looking forward to returning!

The restaurant has recently been updated and is not only beautiful but also very comfortable. There is an open kitchen so you can (somewhat guiltily) look at the chefs preparing and cooking the excellent food. There is a large car park and those with electric cars can charge them while they eat. Great food, great service and reasonably priced.Food & drinks: Outstanding

Wow! This place has upped its game. I had heard that the food had improved recently so we decided to give it another go as we live in the village and had not booked anywhere. The previous makeover had somehow missed the mark with random staff and unreliable food.I’m still not wild about the interior; a bit cold looking with little atmosphere. However the lighting seemed softer which helped and the food was really very good.We sat at the ‘Chef’s table’ (bit pretentious) but it was clear that the kitchen was being well run with everyone working together & very professional. Well done whoever has done the hiring, you are bang on with this crew. Please keep it up; l have passed the message on so hopefully you will get plenty more custom.

I dined here all week but was not a resident so cannot comment on the rooms except to say if at the level of quality as the rest of THE OSTRICH INN they will be very clean and plush. A remarkable establishment in the centre of south creake...like finding an OASIS in the dessert! A fabulous place, lovely staff, very clean, comfortable ,they make you welcome and dog ?? friendly also making our four legged friend happy with a supply of water in Lovely dog bowls. the food? FABULOUS... YUMMY..TOP NOTCH! a very good chef & kitchen team. Lovely young ladies serving at your table, a really classy tastefull inn. I hope the locals support THE OSTRICH and those from around north Norfolk area. Hopefully on my next visit it will still be trading as a crime if this gem fails do to a lack of local support. Prices inline with other places serving quality food and good service. The real ale is the best I have tasted in years, Barsham IPA, in my area it's impossible to buy a decent pint of any real ale just endless pumps of fizzy watery lager or odd cider. Enjoy this blast from the past THE OSTRICH INN at south creake. One criticism... The phone number on Website and Google is not valid according to Vodafone. And NOT EVERYONE wants to send a message by Email! Just to book a table to eat on the day, it makes a customer think the number has been Disconnected...NOT a good look! I found this extremely unprofessional and on two nights we gave up and phoned the Hoste and booked at BURNHAM MARKET as only four miles from south creake.

My Husband and I have just had a 6 night stay at The Ostrich Inn. Originally, We had booked 5 nights, but We were enjoying visiting the area and ended up staying an extra night which they accommodated. The whole place was renovated during Covid I believe and still feels new and fresh. The breakfasts were cooked to order, and the room was made up every day. We found it a good spot for visiting places on the north Norfolk coast as well as both east and west of South Creake and further south, such as Norwich city centre. I should say that We also ate our evening meals there several times which were always good. The staff are very friendly, jolly and helpful. I would particularly like to mention Gary and Corinna who cooked and served a great breakfast every day, Glen who was good fun in the evenings, and the owner, Julie, who was a lovely lady (hope I have got all these names right!). All round every member of staff We encountered was helpful and clearly enjoyed working there. Would happily recommend this place and it certainly helped make our holiday. Many thanks to all the staff.

Staying for a couple of nights away. The room was a good size, nice bed and a pleasant bathroom. Not quite luxury, but ok. the room and in fact the all of the bar and food area was spotless. The décor is modern, which unfortunately, makes the bar rather cold and without any atmosphere with un welcoming bright lights. On the first night we decided to eat there as the website promised a lot when it comes to their food. But, on that night (a Tuesday) they were only serving pub classics, that was fine as I was still expecting good quality. I went for the pizza as they had a wood burning oven on the patio, such a disappointment, dull, boring pizza which would have been ok if it came from a cheap take away, how can u get it so wrong when you have a wood fired oven? My wife had the cheese burger, which again was just ok. No effort was made in cooking or presentation. Breakfast was more of the same, poached eggs that were solid! You have a pro kitchen guys, come on! On the experience, we decided to eat somewhere else the following night even though it was their full menu, just didn't want to risk it. All in all, decent accommodation, great staff, but needs to up their game food wise.

Excellent food, both breakfast and dinner with friendly service. We stayed in one of the rooms overlooking he main road which was perfectly fine. The lack of air conditioning is a problem; even with the outside temperature having a high during the day of 22; we couldn’t get the temperature in the room below 26 with the window open as wide as possible (only a couple inches were possible given blocks) and the fan on full blast. It would be unbearable on a hotter day.

Superb stay and experience from arrival to departure! Throughout, the Ostrich Inn is clean, well appointed and very well presented. We had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent; both in terms of quality and presentation. A couple of fantastic local ales on tap too. We took our dog as the Ostrich said they were dog friendly … and they were. Our dog friendly room had a dog bowl, dog blanket and doggy treat waiting for us. Dogs are welcome in the bar/restaurant and the owner, manager and staff all took the time to say hello. The team were all fabulous. Can’t rate the Ostrich Inn highly enough!
