Madras curry swimming in oil, other people's meals were OK, when we got the bill the guy said absolutely nothing, no thankyou..

We had a nice meal for 10 of us - they squeezed us in at the last minute in a conservatory out the back. Food was good though lots of things on the menu were not available and the staff seemed a bit uncertain. Ambience was a bit lacking with very bright spot lights and not much of a village pub feel.

We booked a table of 10 for dinner on Christmas Eve . We were staying in a farmhouse in Fring and the pub was the nearest available. Booking and reservation was easy and informal. Being a cynical Londoner I checked twice the booking was still on ( it was ) . The pub was rammed , the table reserved, service was friendly and food excellent. A simple menu executed brilliantly. Thanks to everyone involved in making our Christmas start so well. We will be back next time we’re visiting sunny hunny.

This is a nice country pub with reasonably priced food which was very tasty, it had a nice atmosphere and the staff were very attentive.

We visited as part of Norfolk restaurant week. For £20 we got 3 courses, all with good portions and very well cooked. Service was good, just a shame a noisy table meant you couldn't hear yourself think #inconsiderate. We didn't let it spoil a very good meal at a reasonable price. The conservatory was light and comfortable, but you could sit in the main pub too.

Had a very enjoyable time here with my partner, a lovely evening meal which both me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed. Our servers Jasmine and Maria deserve a special mention for their hard work and great service.

Great local pub, good food, good service. Offers a good varied menu as well as a good selection of sandwiches. You can’t go wrong if you want to get out for lunch.

The Railway Inn should be applauded for putting a menu together that offers such great value (£16 for 2 or £20 for 3 courses) in an otherwise expensive area of Norfolk but unfortunately, despite the friendly service, we found the food a bit disappointing in terms of flavour and quantity. The mussels came with a bland cream sauce, couldn't taste anything of the sauce. The duck came with two and a half new potatoes. The chicken liver and black pudding starter was smothered in salad dressing and was over powered as a consequence. We skipped the desserts.

Visited the Railway Inn as part of our extended Restaurant Week itinery.....what a delight! Attractive menu which delivered as described and more. The flavours throughout were balanced and the well proportioned servings were beautifully seasoned and cooked. The pork belly dish for example was tender with the delicate flavours of apple and sage amongst others against a backdrop of seasonal root vegetables with a flavoursome sauce, goes some way to explaining why the Railway Inn gets our highest recommendation. Thank you Caroline and the waiting staff for a lovely service and ....we will be back!

Very pleased to have found this restaurant. We visited during Norfolk restaurant week and the food was superb, intrigued to know what their menu is like the rest of the year. Just as good I'm sure.
