Spent a most enjoyable weekend. Rob and Sara very welcoming. Lovely comfortable rooms and amazing breakfast. Sets you up for the day. Highly recommend as a place to stay when visiting the Yorkshire Dales.

What a rude owner. When we entered he stood behind the bar and said “well I’m not just stood here for the fun of it” and poured a pint of dark fruits that smelled rotten and tasted very perfumy end vinegary, I took it to 5 other members of my group who all immediate said it smelt and tasted off, and advised not to drinkIt, when I took it to the bar and told him it tasted funny, he immediately got on the defence and said cider has a shelf life of 10 years and it will be fine. Had to leave an almost full pint on the side and buy a Guinness.. witnessed his rude behaviour and attitude all night. Made a point of not buying another drink in there.

Probably the rudest landlord I've ever come across. Dirty looks , rolling his eyes and sniggering with his buddies at the bar . Great way to treat a family with a 6 year old girl . Give this a miss guys , plenty of pubs within short distance . This place obviously doesn't need or want the custom .

Sara and Rob are lovely hosts, who made me feel very welcome from the moment I arrived. Nothing was too much bother and they really went above and beyond to accommodate my vegan dietary requirements.Rooms: Clean, tidy and comfortable, with plenty of storage space. I had a really great night’s sleep.Food & drinks: Lovely spread for breakfast, covering all the bases, no matter what your appetite is. I had a perfectly cooked vegan English breakfast, which really set me up for the day nicely ?

Sara and Rob made me feel really welcome. With their gorgeous dogs and friendly manner, it really made the place feel like a home from home. My room was clean, tidy and comfortable, with plenty of storage space. The breakfast spread caters for every taste and appetite. Sara and Rob also went the extra mile to accommodate my vegan dietary requirements, serving up a perfectly cooked English breakfast.

This is a lovely quirky pub. The outside seating area is lovely. Our room was quite small but bright and cheerful. The location of the pub is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. It doesn't have a car park but we were able to park on the main street using a "Tourist" parking pass. The breakfast was ok, with fruit juice and a good selection of fruit and cereals. The cooked breakfast was substantial but our toast was very burned (inedible). Also, the tea/coffee tasted strange., We thought that the water heater needed to be cleaned or the water changed

The pub is just off the main street so is easily missed. It had a lovely display of hanging baskets outside and s very attractive beer garden. It was let down a bit by being very quiet with very few customers and s landlord who did not engage at all and simply was glued to his phone for the whole of our visitIt has a fish tank with some of the weirdest fish I have ever seen.It has a decent range of drinks including cask beers.Don't think it does food but it is residential so I assume it will do breakfast in the mornings

Never have I encountered such nice hosts as Sara and Rob. Our car broke down between Newcastle and Norfolk and we needed somewhere to stay overnight. Rob was there to take us in late at night and also feed us early the next morning. Sara took over afterwards and made us feel really at home and comfortable while we waited for a hire car. I really cannot express mine and my family's gratitude for looking after us so well when we were in a dire place. Also, rooms were nice and clean and breakfast was amazing (thanks Rob).
