Our cycling club visits regularly. Not the biggest place but timed well we Always get a seat.Just be carful mind, if there is an old lady in the corner who looks like Nora Batty keep your voices down infact probably best whispering. She doesn’t like any noise. If you overstep the mark she will aggressively reprimand you by drumming the table and shouting you down!Will not stop us going again the food is 10/10 as are the staff.

A great little find! We love popping in for a bit of lunch before heading just down the road to feed the ducks! Really good value for money (sandwich, drink and cake for £6 is a total bargain!) Dog and child friendly too. Staff always friendly

An impromptu visit to the coffee shop today! We were looking for a local cafe to meet up and found this hidden gem! It was very busy but we managed to get a table. The food from the neighbouring tables looked good! We ordered a meal deal consisting of a sandwich (comes with salad/crisps), cake and hot drink.A waitress came to take our order. We couldn’t believe how popular it was and how reasonable the prices were.When the food came, the portions were generous!! The food was fresh and tasty. We couldn’t eat the cake and asked for a box to take home.The staff were friendly and we will definitely return again.They had seating outside and also dog friendly! We will peruse the garden centre too as ran out of time today!!

The 2nd time we've been on a weekend and not got served. Yes there are a good few people but was there half an hour and overlooked and our order wasn't taken.Have been coming regularly for years.
Lovely little cafe coffee shop,also does food eat in or take out.Service is excellent, and friendly staff look after your order with care and consideration.Situated in the nursery belonging to askham Grange prison.Well worth a visit?

Great cafe. Excellent service from staff. Very wide range of food at good prices. Bike parking etc UPDATE May 2023 - still a popular stop for cyclists. Plenty of cake - very good value sandwiches. No hot food now but the cakes and sandwiches are certainly worth a look. Very pleasant and attentive staff.

Lovely place run by lovely people. The jacket potatoes were very filling and very good value. We had a meal deal but were too full to eat the cake so we took them home to enjoy later. The photograph of the cake is just one portion! The cafe is dog friendly and the staff gave our little dog a sausage so he was happy too ?.

I went to the cafe on a recce a week before I wanted to have a family brunch there. I booked a table for the following Sunday. There was no problem, I was told, and booked for 6 at midday. We all went to the cemetery on Mother’s Day the next week, and then arrived, only to be told, in a packed cafe that the boss had cancelled our table but did not let us know. Apparently we could have a free drink as a compensation. We were furious. It took us a great deal of time and effort to find another venue that could take us on this special day.I will never recommend them, nor will I ever go back.Thank you for your reply.I was not to know the member of staff was new. As you could not contact me, perhaps that was the time to honour the commitment. Those other people who tried to book were given the correct information and so had time to make other arrangements.
