Made a diversion to the pub on our way back home from the east coast. Google website 'open' message conflicted with the reality at 19.00 on Sunday 16th January. Spoilt a nice day out. Get your admin sorted please..

Six pounds for two pints of soda water ice and lime!! We were told this was the policy of Sam Smith the brewery based in Tadcaster . The pub is charming, and we were treated with the utmost respect by the landlord, but, if you are out in N Yorkshire, just be aware of the charges going through the roof in some pubs.

Visited a few years ago. Notices on the wall to say ‘No Mobile phones’. My husband looked at his emails and was told to please put his phone away. Very rude! Must have changed ownership since then.

Fantastic village pub, great service, Sue is the most welcoming Landlady I've ever met. Food is superb and great value. Probably the best Sam Smiths pub in the area. Definitely worth a visit. 5 stars.

First came here years ago but has changed hands many times. New people now and can well recommend for country pub, plenty parking good food friendly and nice landlady. Ask first about taking dog inside. Tables outside if warm.

well where do i start my sister invited us over for the night and for me saturday night is beer night so we arrived at the pub where mike was serving hes a very nice chap and pulls a good pint later on the landlord and landlady took over and i can honestly say they are hard to beat we had a good chat and laugh together something that is sadly missing when everyone is glued to their phones .we sat around one of the many real fires and it was just lovely to relax and drink .we went back the next day for sunday lunch to celebrate my sons anniversary and once again dave and sue really looked after us so we will be back again soon

Great lunchtime but be prepared as cash only. No phones allowed! . As a country pub should be. Ps try the liver and mash.

Great Sam Smith's pub. January visit so roaring fires and the end of Christmas decorations make the pub really welcoming. Friendly landlord/barman. Had a nice couple of meals, hit the spot. Steak & Kidney pie for me and a Prawn Sandwich for my friend. Both really nice.followed up with a cup of tea all under £20.00. Pint of Old Brewery, superb. It's a Sam's pub so no electronic devices allowed therefore no photos. The pub deserves a few pictures though but I don't mind the restrictions. It was relaxing sat by the fire and chatting.

What a gorgeous cosy pub with beautiful open fires to make a for the perfect evening. Went in last night for drinks and was served firstly by Mike the friendly barman and then later on met the very welcoming landlord and landlady. We were made to feel very welcome. Some funny friendly banter between Dave and Sue and the customers already there. They couldn't do enough to make our time there special. One of the first things that hits you is the shiny cleanliness of the place..a massive plus for me....Went back this afternoon for Sunday Roast and sticky toffee pudding. The experience was just as pleasant as the night before.I'm not particularly a pub person but this is an experience worth repeating!! .....hope to see you there lol
