Great pub with fantastic Sunday roasts.

This was like an expensive KFC.The seats were comfortable, which was fortunate because service was very slow.I chose the "chicken schnitzel" which turned out to be a tasteless piece of chicken coated in .....well who knows?Surprisingly when I asked for a side of "Cajun sweet potatoes" these were served as well as ordinary fries not instead of ?.Ok. So a poor first course, but surely "apple, blackberry and cranberry crumble with custard" must be delicious.I'm sure that it would have been, but what came was lacking blackberries and cranberries. The crumble was underneath the apple (to which they hadn't even bothered to add a little cinnamon) and the custard was thinner than school dinner custard."Must have been a cheap place." you are thinking. No. £37 I consider to be the top end of mid priced food. All in all a dreadful meal during which was a soundtrack of 1960's easy listening music.

Called in on a Sunday evening for a drink. Suprised to find live music playing and quite busy. Really enjoyed the music and atmosphere. A nice place that I will certainly visit again.

We stayed here on a spur of the moment trip to Harrogate and we’re so glad we did. What a gem. The room was amazing- all oak beams and a quirky four poster bed. The food in the restaurant was fabulous- would definitely recommend the sea bass on the specials menu and the pizza was to die for.Impeccable service in a wonderful setting. Will definitely recommend it to friends

We hit the jackpot with this lovely place. Staff were absolutely amazing, our room was beautiful and the food was delicious. We chose it because we wanted a relaxed place to stay to break up a journey back to to Newcastle and this place was perfect as it's not far off the A1. I'm on crutches at the moment so needed a place that has easy access in the room and a bar/lounge where we could settle ourselves for the evening. Their Alnwick room was perfect as it is designed with wheelchair users in mind and was only a 30second walk to the bar/restaurant.Would highly recommend!

This place has so much potential, but sadly, it never lives up to the lovely decor. Service is often patchy, prices expensive for drinks &

Nice little country pub. Very tidy inside, clearly a bit of money has been spent since I was last there. Friendly bar staff. Only thing that blights this little oasis is/are the parking arrangements!!! A week after my visit I received notification of a parking fine.... £100!! I have spoken with the manager and he assures me, this will be overturned. I don't whether it's the pub who have appointed these cockroaches or if it's the land owner. If it's the pub, then you need to divest yourself of their 'services'. They are costing you valuable business. Manny, I trust you will be good to your word. You've got a nice pub there.

Food & drinks: We ordered fish and chips as there was only one chose of steak . The fish was mostly batter and the chips were brown and the weren’t fresh cooked . We only hate a few and when some one came to ask if everything was ok I complained about the chips .We were very disappointed this was one of the worst meals we have had for the price . We will not be going there again.

First time visiting the Castle Inn and WOW, every single member of staff made us feel so welcome from arriving to our departure . We stayed in the Skipton room which was quirky but beautiful. Bathroom luxurious, stand alone bath, separate large shower. Our breakfast was delicious, thank you to Matt for being so friendly and hospitable. We will definitely be back.Sue & Dave xxx
