This is one of our favourite Wetherspoons. When visiting Harrogate we always call in for lunch. The building itself is an architectural masterpiece which has been well looked after by the current custodians. As for the pub, five stars. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is always very tasty. Service spot on.Vegetarian options: There is a selection of vegetarian food options.Parking: Limited pay and display parking at the rear of the building and some pay and display on street parking.

I gauge the quality of an establishment by how the staff treat their customers. Yes, quality of food/ambience/value for money etc are important but you know how well a place is run by the attitude the employees have towards their clientele. With this in mind, I will begin with the main positive. The service provided to me by the bar person for the one and only round I bought was both expeditious and polite. From there it went downhill.Ten minutes after I'd bought the drinks, two doormen came up to me and asked me to leave. Incredulous, I asked why. The reason I was given is because it was alleged I or the person I was speaking to had been rude to a barperson! Whilst we were in the discussion with the doormen protesting our innocence (and for the purposes of clarity we were innocent), another member of staff started ratchetting up the temperature by projecting his emotional imbalance onto the proceedings. As the person I was with and I were perfectly calm yet entirely confused, this seemed to frustrate the hot-headed employee (was he the Manager, the Head Barperson? - I don't know).Anyway, after the debate surrounding our innocence concluded, we were told that we needed to leave once we'd finished our drinks. We agreed wholeheartedly. The issues with this whole situation are as follows. If we were guilty, why not just unceremoniously throw us out? Why did they not check CCTV to establish the identity of the culprit? And, why did the barperson that had been offended not identify the actual culprit in person? There were numerous ways to resolve the situation and establish our innocence but the hot-headed employee seemed to have the attitude of shoot first and ask questions later.I concluded that the one consequence of Tim Martin's business model when packing the customers in and keeping prices low is that he doesn't pay management particularly well. As such, when he pays management low salaries it is natural he'll attract younger, less emotionally mature individuals into those positions. It also goes without saying that putting those individuals into positions of such responsibility, without having the emotional tools to succeed in them, negative outcomes will emerge.I just hope the management character in this charade gets the training and support he so evidently needs, before he has another meltdown and alienates further customers.Having never been to a Wetherspoons before, my experience confirms I will not return.

Another iconic building taken over by wetherspoons that reeks of history and augments the senses upon entry. Definitely worth a visit.

This must be the most amazing architectural Wetherspoons I’ve been in. It’s literally a work of art. The cheap drinks are still available along with the food of course but you feel as though you are on a film set for the Roaring Twenties. It was packed out as most of these pubs are but we got a table quickly and our drinks within minutes. Go there just to see what it looks like, it’s amazing.

Couldn't wish for more.Even though it was very busy the service was prompt at the bar. All staff encountered were pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent, fresh and hot. The order arrived in a trice!Such exceptional value for money. We'll be going again during our Harrogate stay.We went for lunch and dinner.Change from £20 for curry and an alcoholic drink for the both of us at lunch and £15 for a large pizza, which we shared an alcoholic drink and a 'bottomless' hot drink.Winner, winner!

The usual Spoons good range of beers and standard menu but visit to see the grandness of the Winter Gardens, part of the Royal Baths constructed in 1835.

The nicest looking Wetherspoons you will probably ever go to. The building inside and outside is beautiful but let down by the poor quality of food. Service is ok and the beer is normally good however

Okay,it's a 'Spoons.. but what a beauty. Also, rarely for one of this chain, the toilets are on the GROUND floor ?.

Came on a Sunday morning, lots of space available. Food was actually quite fresh and came fast. Nice tall ceilings, clean tables and nice atmosphere.I have been before in afternoons and eves and it does tend to get quite busy.
