Our Family of four had a superb stay in a log cabin. The most luxurious holiday let we’ve stayed in. Attentive staff, delicious food and numerous thoughtful touches. Definitely returning! ??Dietary restrictions: Excellent at catering for both dairy and gluten allergies.

A cakeage fee!!… We all got two courses and as 14 of us, spent £300. Another £20 for us to cut our own cake at our table and blow out of our candles. Also too loud. Fuming.

First visit here today, we fancied somewhere different for breakfast and some friends had suggested Whinstone View a while back.Waze tried to take us somewhere else, but we seen a signpost for it. The place is quite big, and not obvious of where to actually go, but we found our way and parked up.Again, it’s not entirely obvious of where to go, we followed our instincts, and we found the right place. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted, once we picked a table, we were told that one was reserved. Typical us, but it wasn’t obvious. We sat down and a lady came over to see what drinks we wanted, there was a dairy free option, so we picked our drinks, and had a look at the menu. We decided on a full English and an eggs benedict. The drinks came and we didn’t have to wait long for the food. The food was all well cooked , very hot and the right amount (though I do prefer 2 sausages). The menu does say no swaps, but I don’t like Black pudding. The food was really decent quality, the Oat latte was great too.The staff cleared the plates and were very friendly and polite, asking if everything was ok on a couple of occasions. We paid the bill, there was no pressure to tip, and we will certainly be coming back.Dietary restrictions: Dairy free milk available for the coffee. I wasn’t asked if I had any intolerance dietary restrictions.Parking: Plenty of space, a short walk to the Bistro.

Clean spacious rooms, food was wholesome and varied. Breakfast choices exceptional (try the walker's porridge with Drambuie, raisins and honey), Staff friendly and helpful. Would have given it 5 stars had the hotel not needed some overall refurbishment.

I love this place! Whinstone view holds a special place in my heart as it is where I got married, but the bistro itself is just brilliant! The food is divine, if we go out for breakfast it's always at the top of our list. The recent makeover is stunning and I cannot wait to visit the outdoor terrace and pizza bar in the summer!

Breakfast in the Bistro, the food was delicious and the service was excellent all in the lovely warm atmosphere of a log burning stove.

Really lovely afternoon spent with work colleagues in a quiet and spacious dining area. The food was delicious, and the service was quick. We sent our orders over before attending, which made sure we got served promptly. The staff were attentive and efficient.

Went with friends for a birthday celebration. Asked when booked if we could stay for drinks after the evening meal and told yes. They then told us when we got there, the bar closes at 10pm !! They said we could only stay until 10.30 as the staff had to be back to serve breakfasts. We were made to feel uncomfortable the staff hovering over the table waiting to take the empties , music turned off and so we took the hint and left. They need to tell people this when booking. The decor is lovely and good was tasty.

Originally a very good restaurant but since the new ownership have expanded the restaurant and the whole facility has been “democratised” the menus is limited and service has deteriorated. Had a recent meal there and it was deafening, customers talking at the top of their voices, kids running riot and not the best service. If you have a “lively” family this may be the place for you (providing you like burgers or pizzas otherwise I’d give it a miss.

Best chicken parmesan ever, far to big to eat though but waitress boxed it to bring home. Too full to eat the sticky toffee pud so that was boxed to bring home as well.Parking: Plenty spaces free but went at 3.30pm

Half day yoga retreat.Lovely relaxing morning in a beautiful setting. We started with mint tea (fresh, not tea bags). Did some journal prompts then a lovely yoga flow. Went for a mindful walk after having some breakfast as pictured. Then restorative yoga which was amazing but let down by the cold temperature in the barn. Apparently they do have underfloor heating in there so not sure why this wasn't on. Overall I would do this again and would be lovely if you could do one with each changing season.
