First experience of a Bangladeshi restaurant and I'm hooked. Just here on holiday for a week but I'd love to work my way through their menu. Lots of new things to try. All 4 of us agreed our meal was excellent. Nice ambience, friendly staff and very cheap.

The restaurant is now called Jaflong the new owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The atmosphere inside is cosy homely and welcoming. I ordered lamb chops and chicken tikka starters which were succulent and very tasty. For mains I had lamb curry with pilau rice it was a mouthwatering dish will definitely be visiting again . Excellent food and excellent service definitely the best in Ripon. Not to be missed if you’re in the area.

This was our first time ordering from here. A family of 3 adults, we chose Chicken Balti, Chicken Dansak, Chicken Dupiaza (£5.95 each), 2 x rice (£2.95 each) and a garlic naan (£2.50). The menu specified a 15% discount on cash collection, which made the price even better! I was told the total was £28, so paid £30 and was given £2 in change. When I got the meals home, they were all tasteless and were not the medium strength stated on the menu. However, I realised that we had been overcharged! I worked out the total twice (incase I was wrong), but it only came to £26.25. Then there should've been the 15% discount (£3.94) which would've made a bill of £22.31. I went back to the restaurant to explain and to get my £5.69 back that I had been overcharged. I explained everything to the gentleman, who then gave.me £3, saying "it's the best I can do". Again I showed him the calculations, he gave me another £1, saying "it's the best I can do". Again I showed him and reminded him of the 15% discount. He gave me another £1, saying the offer has now changed and it is only 10%. I explained that he gave me the menu showing the offer being 15% but he said that as I had only paid £25 then this was the best he could do! I again reminded him that I had paid £28 at which point one of the waitresses have me another £1. I tried to explain that if the offer has expired, then he needs to get rid of the menus so that nobody else gets caught out. Sorry, but I will not be ordering from here again. I will also not be recommending this restaurant to any of my friends, local or otherwise.
