Was staying in a hotel nearby and this place had some good looking pizza reviews! They don't take bookings but we went in on Saturday evening and was told it would be around an hour wait for a table. They put my name down, took my phone number and said they'd call when the table was ready. It was cold and rainy so we went back to our room to wait. 40 mins later got a call to say the table was ready. We were seated immediately by the friendly staff and quickly ordered our food and drinks. Good size pizza with lovely tomato sauce and plenty of perfectly melted cheese. What made the pizza really special, was the amazing crust. The base of the pizza was nice and thin but the crust was lovely, thick and doughy. I can see why there's often a wait for a table here. We'll definitely be back.

What a fabulous place, this was recommended by friends and will definitely visit again. We had a pizza to share and Caesar salad and the food was brilliant. Managed to get the table with leather sofa next to the fire and it was so warm and cozy, perfect for a freezing January day. The staff were super friendly and accommodating as well

It never fails to amaze me when we visit 23. The streets are deserted, all the other bars are sparse, however 23 is like a different world, always rammed! Again we were lucky to get a seat, but managed to enjoy a nice bottle of rose before dining elsewhere.'

We were staying in an Apartment on Milton St and after coming back from a beautiful walk, I became quite unwell and needed a cup of tea and some dry toasted bread to help settle my stomach! When I called in, the young staff were super friendly and helpful and gave us a table for two. I asked for the dry toasted bread and cuppa and my wife had a fabulous pizza with dips. Whoever owns this business should be very proud of their staff as I mentioned earlier, nothing was any trouble and the food and service was excellent! Thank you for helping me feel a little better with a lovely dry toasted ciabatta. We will definitely be back! Steve&Tracey

We were looking for somewhere dog friendly and came across 23. Wow it was amazing! Decided to have something to eat and the food was excellent. Best pizza for a long time and the pannini was awesome. Staff were superb would highly recommend you try this place.

Visited Saltburn for a couple of days and decided to eat at No Twenty Three. Arrived around 5:30pm thinking it might be quiet….it wasn’t! Managed to get a table shortly after this and ordered pizzas. They were the nicest pizzas we’ve had in a long time. Fully recommend this place. Lovely people and dog friendly in the bar area.

Just came back from here with my family and we left so disappointed yet it could have been so different! The young lady that served us was clearly new, I don't have an issue with this, everyone has to start somewhere and we were more than happy to pass off the fact that the starter we ordered never came out! The other lady that brought us the pizzas asked if that was it once she had put down all 4 pizzas, it wasn't as we'd also ordered a side of garlic bread which clearly hadn't been ordered either as we had to wait a good 5mins for it until they eventually brought it to our table. This is where it really went downhill! They took our plates and then nothing, waited and waited, made eye contact with the two ladies that had been serving us but still nothing. In the end, and because my kids were annoying me about wanting to order a dessert, I eventually asked one for the dessert menu. Ordered a Nutella pizza with cream and marshmallows, again, waited what seemed like an eternity for it and I even looked over at the kitchen area and I could see a pizza on the side under a heat lamp but assumed/hoped it wasn't ours as it had been sat there for ages and with cream on top I knew it wasn't going to be good if it was ours! Unfortunately for us, and them, it was our pizza so when she brought it to us all the cream had started to congeal as it had been sat there under a heat lamp for so long. Also didn't have marshmallows on so asked about this and they apologised and said they'd run out! Decided to give it a go and it was barely luke warm so told them to take it back and give us the bill. Even when they brought the bill out it had the dessert on so had to ask them to amend this too! All in all it was such a disappointing end to what started so well as the pizzas were truly amazing, gutted!

What a fabulous find . Top quality cooking using locally sourced ingredients . Could have ordered the entire menu but settled on 3 courses , plus we ordered the steak to share as the food was soo good . Really genuine family run business - travelled from Brighton and will definitely come back

As a regular customer and totally aware of the policy of no bookings and walk ins only. On the visit tonight to celebrate an occasion with the family we were informed that all tables were full and we would have to wait, and a family of 4 were in front on the waiting list. This was totally fine and we were in the process of ordering drinks. What occurred next was very sneaky, in fact rude!!! A further family of 4 entered into the restaurant who it became quite clear were friends/family of the staff. To our amazement and disappointment, the friends/family were fast tracked in front of both ourselves and the other family waiting, going against their own policy. The female bar staff knew and when questioned were embarrassed. The male bar staff said "they're friends mate sorry". Upon hearing this statement we left! Shocking customer service!!! Unfortunately and out of principle, we will never return, which disappoints us as we have had many good experiences in there.

Went to this place based on previous reviews, and it didn't disappoint. Great service and even greater pizza. Good choice of pizzas and specials. Deceptively bigger than you'd think, so even on a warm weekend, we managed to get a lunchtime table. Would definitely recommend and return.

This was our third visit to No 23 but the first time with all three grown up kids and one grandkid. We ordered the Garlic Bites, Cheesey Garlic Bread and Padron Peppers for starters. Then a selection of pizzas including a vegan pizza. We enjoyed absolutely everything so thank you to Louis and Scott who were working the kitchen. To Mark and Alex who made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived, and the rest of the team who looked after us. Our family dog was also welcomed and was cosy on the dog bed throughout which enabled us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The pizzas are so good and that’s partly due to the quality of the home made dough and the sauce. We all brought some pizza home as we couldn’t eat it all. I popped mine in the air fryer for three minutes and it was perfect. We will be back!

Amazing food and the service was really exceptional. Brilliant friendly team on a busy Saturday night, but they found us a table and served us really quickly.??
