Called in on a wet Wednesday night having walked up the cliff path from Staithes. We were a bit muddy and had a wet dog but the landlord was really friendly, he even brought the dog a bone. Lovely fruity cider on draft, my friend had a beer, said it was the best pint he’d had for ages. We had a lovely chat with one of the friendly locals, We had breaded Brie wedges with toasted caramelised onion flatbread, salad and chilli jam, followed by chicken fajitas and my friend had scampi. The food was beautifully cooked, and really tasty. I hadn’t eaten in this pub for a few years, What a really lovely night, we will definitely be back very soon, thank you x

A*REALLY* clean pub. Landlord was super friendly and a good laugh. Whilst the menu wasn't extensive, we are delighted to report we had four clean plates after dining.

Great old school pub - just not open enough - only got in on the 3rd attempt - needs to give more info on the outside about what's going on so everyone can support it - we need to stop pubs from shutting

Lovely friendly staff. The owner went out of his way to cook something Gluten free for us. Really friendly spot. Well cooked food. We enjoyed it. Cheers.

Great proper pub run by a nice couple . The pub did not do food when we were there due to staffing issues but the landlord said that if we wished we could order in from a take away and he would provide plates and cutlery.

The brown cow was the highlight of our trip, Mark and his wife (+hector) made our evenings after a less than ideal experience in the ‘other’ pub in the village, would recommended to anyone, love from a group of 20 year olds from leeds university book club. Also mark had a cool tshirt, big ups def leppard xoxoxox

A life saver. Open on a Monday - an oasis in a sea of closed and closing at 3pm establishments. Nice pint, friendly locals.
