Met my friend Sarah for a catch up and a wander on the beach. We visited Tomahawk for some food, the restaurant was fantastically located with beautiful views. 'The Combo Sharing Board' was lovely and the service received from Charlotte was great. Would recommend to anyone visiting Saltburn-by-the-sea

We had amazing food and service Can really recommend the steak - it was cooked perfectly and all veggie sides The ambiance and view over the ocean made it just perfect Thank you Charlotte and Andy We will definitely be back soon

Great and prompt service! Made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. We were drenched after a walk along the seafront and needed some respite from the weather

I would like to address some issues following our Christmas dinner which left us quite deflated. We were welcomed with a drink on arrival. The mocktail was lovely. However the Prosecco was a half full glass which I felt was rather unwanted to be given on first impressions. We sat and were left for 20 minutes before any waiter or waitresses come to our table when they offered us further drinks. It felt like you must of over booked and not able to cater for the amount you had in. We were under the impressions it was 3 sittings but it clearly wasn’t. After getting our first drinks out starters came and were lovely. 40 minutes later our main courses arrived. The roasties were over cooked and we had to ask for some more as they were not sufficient. The red cabbage was dry and the veg for the dinner was underwhelming. We then ordered coffee before our puddings which took 15 minutes to get to our table. The puddings for the table all came out at different times some of our table had finished their puddings before two people got their puddings on the table. When the coffee finally arrived it said we got petit fours with it however nothing was with them, again another disappointment. As a family we feel it was really disappointment for the £99.95 each we paid for seven adults the service and quality let it down. As we were paying the bill staff stood around talking leaving us sat around tables that had been left for over 45 minutes empty but covered in dirty pots, glasses and I felt again for the money we had paid this was not what we expected. I am saddened about this however as a family we feel we will be posting this also on trip advisor so people don’t book next year and get a disappointment on Christmas Day. The lady head of serving the food was a star ⭐️ and real asset to the team but it is a shame other staff gave the impression they didn’t want to be there. Sadly when we paid £699.65 I expected a higher quality of food, a welcoming environment and more professional and quick service.

Delicious food, great service and a lovely view. Excellent venue for lunch on a cold winter’s day ( would be even more lovely when the sun is out!)

We were booked in for 7pm. After sitting for roughly 20mins or so deciding what we would like to eat the waiter on taking our order informed us of a number of items that were off the menu. Pity they hadn't advised of this as we were shown to our table. We were shocked that beef dropping chips were not available, the waiter explained that it had been a busy few days!! Knowing it was a holiday period and the number of people who had pre-booked surely more portions could have be supplied or made!!! Our sharing boards arrived, they looked great but unfortunately all the steak was cold. We were offered for them to be warmed but this would have made them more cooked than medium rare as ordered. We decided to have a dessert only to be informed again after choosing what we wanted that some items were not available. We were offered the black treacle ice cream that was advertised with the sticky toffee pudding which wasnt available!!! We left without having a dessert!! The food was enjoyable but we did think it was slightly over priced. We were sat in the area that over looked the sea which was an amazing view but slightly cold in the evening breeze.

Good service from lovely, attentive staff but, after a long wait for food, the steak which was requested medium rare, was overcooked and tough. The duck pancakes were ok.

I am writing this review after getting no response from this Email i sent to the Manager. My husband and i attended your restaurant (Tomahawk Saltburn) on 25/12/2023 for our Christmas Day Lunch, to say we were very disappointed is an understatement. I am sure you will appreciate at almost £100 per head our expectations were high. We arrived at 1.55pm for our booking at 2.00pm, we were greeted by a friendly young man who offered us a glass of fizz, which unfortunately was warm and then shown to our table, which with nothing other than Christmas cracker was not giving me much of a Christmas vibe, it was also a shame that some of the tables around us hadn't been cleared and still covered in dirty plates and glasses. Our starters arrived around 30 minutes after we arrived, my husband had ordered the soup, which came almost cold and myself the salmon and prawn with a salad which was wilted and slimy , after our starters were cleared we then waited around 30 minutes for our long awaited Lunch, i ordered the traditional turkey, i received one slice of meat, 2 roast potatoes, 2 slices of carrot, 2 parsnips, 1 pigs in blanket, a slice of stuffing and a Yorkshire pudding which i can only presume was cooked the day before, was cold and hard, my husband ordered the Beef, he was expecting a steak/beef restaurant something other than the dried and over cooked slice (1) that he got, for the table we had five sprouts, 3 cauliflower florets and a bowl of red cabbage to share!!!!. After my husbands trip around the restaurant to fine his drink that he had ordered from the bar and we had waited over 30 minutes for our plates to be cleared now waited almost 45 minutes for our desserts, my husband had ordered the cheese board, although looked lovely on arrival consisted of 2 cheeses, not really a selection, i had ordered the sticky toffee pudding, which was the least sticky toffee pudding i have ever had, it was a more of a dry sponge which tasted of ginger! with watery custard all served almost cold. The waitress came to clear our desert plates and asked if we wanted anything else, i asked for our coffees, these were lovely and hot, we received no Petits fours. After finishing our drinks, the waitress asked if we had enjoyed our lunch, my husband explained we were really disappointed and that we thought the food was just not good enough for Christmas lunch, she said she would let the chef know. We then went to settle our drinks bill, and again told the lady we were disappointed, and Christmas Lunch was supposed to be special, she apologised and took £4.50 of the bill for the unreceived Petits Fours. I have never emailed a complaint to a restaurant before but i feel i could not of let you know of our disappointment, we were so looking forward to our lunch and to we feel extremely let down.

We made a reservation which was straightforward. Arrived and seated to our table. All staff we encountered were friendly and approachable. Food took a while to arrive but I guess it made us just a bit more famished so we really enjoyed the food we ordered. Kids portions are quite generous. The adults meals were also very generous and tasted on par. We were planning to have dessert but were running out of time due to parking time limit. The length of time it took for food to arrive was the only niggle to our meal time but the food and staff were polite and courteous enough about the issue so I think they still deserve 5 stars. I can recommend the squid, chicken fajita and any of the sunday lunch choices.

The location is excellent, nice decor, service good, food disappointing, ordered the stake Sharing board £75.00, the chips were burnt the stake was cold. The fish and chips were disgusting all batter, bottom burned black. Mushy peas cold no tartare sauce. First and last visit, I’ve had better stakes and fish at Wetherspoons for fraction of the price.

Food and service excellent. Couldn’t fault anything and will definitely be going back next time we’re in the area

Had to wait 10 minutes for a drink when arrived and over an hour for our meals. When meals came out one of the meals was just warm, and chicken burger the chicken was dry and fish and chips the fish was greasy. For the prices you pay in there you expect better quality food. We wont be going back, there are better places to eat and not as pricey.

APPALLING..went for Sunday roast lunch Xmas eve.. we were refused as they were saving all roasts for Xmas day.. requested ribs.. was told they had none.. chicken? Being saved for Xmas day too.. order a £14.95 brisket roll... then the lady at next table who had ordered half hour after me received succulent ribs and no.. she hadn't preordered.. this is my 2nd bad experience at this place.. the staff don't bat an eyelid.. I refused to pay....
