Both of us really enjoyed it, food, atmosphere & service. Really worth a try as we would pop in again!

Would of liked to give it more stars purely for the staff who were absolutely lovely (only reason we left a tip) but I couldn't give it more than a 2 because the food was so bad, starters were ok but I had the sea food linguine which tasted EXACTLY like heinze spaggetti from a tin, my husband got the minute stake (I wish I'd took a picture?), kids eat free...Great! except the portions are so small (half a bowl of pasta) my 7 year old was still starving afterwards. This was our very 1st & last time we will visit any of these restaurants.

Great place for breakfast!!

Awful cold breakfast that had obviously been pre cooked. Very disappointed as it was pricey too for what it was. Had to send it back and when it arrived it was still quite cold and congealed. Wouldn't go

Leaving 2 stars as the lady that served us was attentive and helped as much as she could.Firstly, £135 for 6 people to have breakfast and one drink each, I think is shocking. The smoothie was like watery fruit and over filled with ice to save costs. The eggs on sourdough and avocado was stone cold and the toast wasn’t toasted, the tomato’s feel like they’d just come out the fridge. I’m not even exaggerating. My friends pancakes never arrived, we had to stop someone to get them over. Everything tasteless. We wanted to go to brew and brownie but the queue was too long, I wish we’d have just waited.Just very poor and wouldn’t return.

We visited this evening 17/3/24 absolutely shocking, asked for burger well done it came raw, drinks are ridiculous prices 330ml can of Coke £3.50 then they had the cheek to add a service charge,, avoid at all cost.

There were dogs (not ours) that we enjoyed from afar. Staff were amazing, accommodating our every need. If I could give more stars, I would. Perfectly cooked burgers. They also gave water bowls to the dogs. What a delight!

I came across this restaurant by chance due to plenty of choices in the York City Centre; the menu is small, but there are plenty of choices, including for vegetarians. I also like that they ask how you would like your beef burger cooked. The restaurant is a good size, clean, and has a good atmosphere. Just one thing to watch out for, they add a service charge to your final bill, which is a percentage of your final bill. This can be removed on request; I am not a fan of added service charges as I find it cheeky and would rather offer a tip for good service, not just because the restaurant took a chance to add it. Overall, I would return again as the food was worth the cost.

Visited Bill's York last week.Food was cold, service was slow although staff were pleasant. And the atmosphere was too loud and not warm.

Stopped here for breakfast on a day trip to York. Food was amazing however we were severely let down by the service, of lack of it!We were essentially given a table and forgotten about whilst others who were sat after us appeared to have their orders taken promptly and ahead of us.There were 5 tables occupied in the entire restaurant and 3 members of floor staff serving the other 4 tables whilst we were trying to flag their attention. We were discussing whether we should leave and got an apology from the couple on the table next to us who were sat after us but had already been served drinks and were waiting on their food when someone scurried over to take our food and drinks order.Probably won't be back as despite the great food, we didn't feel at all welcome.

Could not find a nicer more friendly place to eat. The staff were so wonderful.Without being over the top they really did make us feel great. We had our boxer dog Bertie with us and he left with a bag of treats courtesy of the staff. The food was amazing and such great value for money highly recommended Bills to all groups of people thank you all so very much ???

Food arrived on the cool side. By the time I had finished my meal the last few mouthfuls could be described as cold. Although the staff were friendly and helpful, they were rather busy and nobody came to check how we were doing after the food had been served until we had finished. The waiter was very apologetic and promised to pass my comments on. When he returned to take payment he passed on the kitchens apologies and said they would do something to make sure the eggs were served warmer (I had eggs Florentine, with sides of black pudding and Cumberland sausage) and then passed me the bill and highlighted there was a service charge. We have tried to eat there a few times previously but it was always full (we booked ahead this time). Whilst there we saw people were being turned away (an hours waiting time), so the place is popular. However, our experience was off putting.
