We stayed one night on a 2-day November visit to York. As expected the hotel is interestingly quirky. The public spaces are well decorated with a comfortable bar and breakfast space. The service was friendly and always helpful - and it was a pleasure meeting Ted the cat. Our room (22) was up two flights of stairs. There isn't a lift so this room would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The room was fine with a comfortable bed but looked a little tired. Breakfast was good. Hotel car parking is tight but we found an available space (£15 a day). There is an outside courtyard garden which looked nice despite a cold and rainy autumn evening. The hotel is well located and only a short walk from the Minster. Good value for York. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic Place and super comfy bed. Short stroll onto town .

Would return, but the soundproofing might need addressing, although the child was screaming very loudly at 5am and then playing with the door from then on...Not the hotels fault...but, it did impact on our stay.

Stayed twice, visiting family.Hotel is nicely decorated, rooms are well appointed and very clean. Bed is comfortable.Breakfast was lovely.Conveniently located close to York city centre, less than 10min walk.Parking on site, but it can fill quickly, I’ve parked on the street and not had issues overnight on a weekend.

We booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary and we’re blown away - cannot recommend highly enough! Room 24 was phenomenal and we will definitely be returning and recommending to anyone who mentions a break in York. The attention to detail at the hotel is the best of any hotel we have ever stayed in and nothing was too much trouble for the team to make the stay memorable for us. Good recommendations of things to do locally and places to visit helped us to make the most of the weekend we had in York too! A true hidden gem of a hotel we will certainly return to.

Fantastic 2 night stay, bedrooms are really comfortable, the staff are very attentive and friendly, the quality of the breakfast was fantastic. A very clean and well managed hotel. The whole experience was great and was really good value. Will definitely visit again.

Me and my sister had a lovely stay here, beautiful room and couldn’t fault anything. Staff were very welcoming and couldn’t do more for us. Finished the stay off with a yummy breakfast- just wished we could’ve stayed longer!

We had a very pleasant overnight stay in this beautifully decorated quirky hotel. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean and well equipped. We had the impressive four poster balcony room. The only reason I gave the review four stars and not five is because I found the floorboards quite creaky & the bed a bit lumpy and more uncomfortable than my bed at home, however, my husband found it very comfortable and slept very well!! The balcony was an added bonus it too is decorated very nicely and as the hotel is situated in a peaceful location it was very enjoyable to sit on and enjoy a glass of wine. The hotel gives easy access to walk into York and the on-site car park is handy and although costs a fee is still cheaper than the public car parks. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to stay here again ourselves on future visits to York.

We were on a road trip through Engand & Scotland and flying by the seat of our pants. We knew we were going to spend the night in York and this property was available. So happy we found it and even stayed another night. The place is charming and very stylishly upgraded. There is always someone at reception who was more than happy to help with anything they could. We were also able to park on the property for an extra fee....well worth it as it was only a 15 minute walk to York Minster!

Unique, well kept, friendly staff, just overall a blooming lovely place to stay!! The room was clean and well looked after, and little touches all round the hotel gave the overall feel of luxury. Would love to come back and try one of the other rooms!

Friendly, pleasant. Room (a garden room) was compact but good except that there was nowhere really to sit at a dresser/desk. Bathroom excellent. Breakfast good quality but you have to order the night before.

We enjoyed our brief stay. So many nice touches in the rooms and around the hotel. York City Centre just a brief walk away. Good breakfast too ?

Recently chose Clementine's for a birthday night away in York as it looked lovely and was well situated to walk into the city. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout and the hotel itself is beautifully decorated! Our room was clean and airy with nice touches like the fan and bottled water. To avoid the hotel's parking charge, we parked on the street outside which was quiet with lots of spaces and is free on Sundays. We chose to add breakfast on arrival which was no problem, there was plenty of choice and the eggs royale was delicious. The only disappointment is that in all the times I've visited York, I'd never heard about this hotel sooner! Would definitely visit again.
