I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to food. This was one of the few restaurants I’ve eaten in York. First good sign they had burrata (must try cheese). It only went better from there! One of the best Italian places for me to eat in when I’m near town now. Will definitely be back again - 100% recommend. It’s not pretentious, but some stairs to get down so watch out for accessibility issues. Staff were lovely

We went here on a recommendation from a family member, and it exceeded that expectation by far. The pizza was great. Nice thin base from a proper pizza oven with fresh tomato sauce and lovely mozzarella. The cheese cake special was lovely and light. To top it off the service and atmosphere was great.

We're here for a few days from London and what an amazing find. My partner booked for my birthday and the food was absolutely delicious. We shared a starter and for mains we went for seafood linguine and pizza and it was superb. I had the meringue for dessert and it was so tasty. Service was spot on and the whole ambience of the restaurant. No wonder it was fully booked for a Tuesday.

The lady who served us must have been one of the friendliest people on earth.Sufficed to say, the service was great. The arched brick cellar underground experience isolates you from the world above and gives you the impression you could be dining in any location. The food tasted very nice and the calzone was spot on; ham, cheese, mushroom and spinach: not overcomplicated.Due to the architecture though it can be quite noisy when full.

What a wonderful place. From the moment of being welcomed Delrio's was superb experience. Food, ambience and service excellent. Very personable and friendly. The food was just stunning! I wish we lived closer so we could come again!One Highlight was having a glass of mirto.. which we haven't drunk for over 20 years, when we lived in Sardinia!

This was the best italian eatery Ive ever been to. The food was divine and reasonably priced.The staff were very attentive and helpful.My husband had meatballs in sauce and i had chicken and prawns in white wine and cream sauce, it really was lovely. The restaurant was mazing Very Very old but nice. top marks to all. Hot plates aswell/

We booked in for an evening meal at Delrio's and weren’t disappointed. We love this cosy cellar restaurant with its great ambience, amazing service and outstanding food. We had the carpaccio and scallops to start, for mains the meatballs and gnocchetti sardi. We had a bottle of the good house red wine too. We would definitely return here again. Highly Recommend. A lovely, atmospheric basement location that was buzzing with customers enjoying authentic Italian cuisine in this family-run restaurant. Service was warm and engaging, giving us time to ponder our options before placing our order. I had the Catalan scampi and king prawns, served with rice. It was something I’d never seen on an Italian restaurant menu before, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m a bit of a pasta freak, but was more than happy to eat this dish with rice. On the wine list there are several options by-the-glass, and we both found the perfect match for our meal. Thoroughly enjoyed our first night’s meal in York here at Delrio’s and would happily recommend to anyone looking for something a little special and different.
Without doubt the best Italian ever! Food is out of this world and Susan and her staff are absolutely incredible, welcoming, attentive and nothing is to much trouble. We come back every year and it never fails to disappoint! A little gem of a restaurant.

By far the best restaurant in all of York. The Staff was more than welcoming, attentive, and authentic. The food was extremely good, From the bread to the courgette to start us off. The mains were spectacular. Then there was the white chocolate cheesecake fabulous. I would recommend getting a reservation in advance, but it is worth it.
