Visited on a Sunday morning, and for the price, it was a disappointing experience. Ordered 2 pastries and a coffee, and waited over 20 minutes for a flat white.Firstly, a member of staff brought over incorrect drinks to us, and then kept serving drink orders to customers who ordered after us. The shop assistant didn't apologise, and instead rudely told us that there were 2 people before us, which simply wasn't true, as we watched people order drinks, and leave with their drinks before we got ours. The Chocolate Croissant had less chocolate than a Tesco equivalent, and whilst it looked the part, it was slightly burnt on the top and greasy on the bottom - very underwhelming for £3.70!The decor and overall vibe of the bakery wasn't great, and felt a bit snobbish. This was not improved by a member of staff carrying a full bag of waste through the bakery and out of the front door.Unfortunately, in an area with many bakery and café options, me and my partner won't be returning.

Bought an almond croissant to take out as a treat and was thoroughly disappointed as it was burnt! Expected a lot more considering the extortionate price. There are better options that are very local and do much better pastries. Would urge anyone to avoid this bakery and try elsewhere.

The food scene in York is very small compared to other cities, like Manchester. But in spite of this, I think that York offers a consistently high standard of eateries. And sitting amongst the pinnacle of these is the absolute gem that is Flori Bakery.Residing just off Bishy Road, Flori is easily the best bakery I have ever been to.Last summer, I spent many weekends eyeing the spectacular pastries on their countertop. They offer a seasonal array of gastronomic wonders that differ from day to day.It can vary. One day, they'll serve vanilla custard and strawberry filled Danish pastries. And then the next day, you could be surprised by ham, cheese, and mustard rolls. However, it won't shock anyone who's read my previous reviews to know I love a classic. So, whilst my personal recommendations to anyone reading this may seem beige...I would implore you to experiment with some of Flori's more outlandish offerings. My recommendations to you are...1) The Cinnamon Bun - Sweet and sticky, but with a subtle, warm kick of spice.2) The Cardamon Bun - Dense, doughy, and perfect when accompanied by a coffee.3) The Croissants - They're flawlessly laminated slices of flaky perfection. If you're in York, and you feel like treating someone, fetch them a Flori pastry. You'll be their favourite personal all week. I can guarantee it.Vegetarian options: There are plenty of clearly labelled vegetarian options at Flori. And to make it even better, their offerings are far more interesting and filling than the typically sparse selections of other bakeries.
