Travelled 4.5 hours to get to Stillington. Arrived at 1900 and decided to have dinner. The poppadoms were stale (at least a day old).Tarka Dhal needed garlic as had zero flavourCauliflower bajhi had spice on it that I could visually see but tasted of nothing. I consider that a magic trick of great skill. The owner made me what he called a 'vindaloo special'...It was special alright. No heat, flavours were weak. The rice had so much oil in the bottom of the bowl, I'm sure I could have strained it and used it to fire up a local tractor. The best thing about this place was the drunken patron at the bar who was hilarious entertainment. The owner apologised about the drunkard but really he should have been apologising about the food. Save your money and get fish and chips down the road or go to the pubs across the street.

This was by far the worst curry I have ever eaten! I cant believe the positive reviews on here are talking about the same place! Knew we were off to a bad start when the poppadoms weren't even cooked fresh! The dishes had no flavour at all... even the ones that we were told would be 'very spicy' literally tasted of nothing. Dreadful atmosphere... drunks at the bar, empty restaurant and staff pottering about cleaning. The only reason we stayed was because we were here on holiday, and having arrived late in the evening there was nowhere else to go. Seriously dreadful!!!!

Very rude behavior of the staff on the phone....seems like they don't need customers. They feel it's a headache for them

Cash-only but definitely worth finding a cash-point for!!! We had a takeaway whilst holidaying in the village, one of our best curries for many years.

Unfortunately and foremost this establishment requires cash only, when telephone booking we were not told in advance so when we arrived sat down then saw the notice on the wall we got up to leave to get cash, the owner came out after us and said we could pay cash the next day. My partner enjoyed his meal I did not enjoy my starter of king prawn butterfly dry and bland with a bit of shredded ice berg lettuce and 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half. The waitress was not friendly, no smiles or excuse me. No Atmosphere in the place, not a busy establishment on Saturday night probably due to cash only.

Not only the worst Indian meal we’ve ever had but the worst food!! The pickle tray wasn’t very appetising at all. We asked if the chicken was cooked fresh meaning not pre cooked as it can sometimes be dry. We were told yes it was but it certainly wasn’t as it was very dry and obviously pre cooked. The “chef” appeared at our table halfway through the meal to ask if it was “cooked fresh enough” for us but his sarcasm and attitude wasn’t lost on us and he had a bad attitude as he never asked any other table if the food was ok so a snide retort. The rice was awful too, we’ve never had cauliflower in vegetable pilau rice. The masala sauce was like watered down ketchup and the lamb rogan josh was as tough as leather and the sauce was just awful. Awful food and so unappealing

My wife and I had an amazing meal at this restaurant whilst staying in a holiday cottage nearby. The quality of the service and the food were both excellent. We went on a Monday night and were the only people there, which is normally a bad sign for a restaurant but we should not have been worried as we had a great meal. Also we found that the drink prices were very reasonable. We would highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to go again if we were in the area.

Just finished our meal and we were both saying how much we enjoyed it. So I thought I would post a review! Couldn’t decide which dish we liked the most - but the daal and cauliflower bhaji need a mention.
