Food is on another level. Good selection of drinks. Always come away amazed. Friendly staff, casual atmosphere. It's not cheap but I consider it excellent value given the quality, especially when compared to what's on offer from other fine dining restaurants. Book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended.

Extremely enjoyable dining experience. Although very busy, we never once felt rushed, each and every flavour could be enjoyed and didn’t get overwhelmed with others. We have visited quite a few Michelin starred restaurants over the years up and down the country; we would certainly put Skosh in front of most of them. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The attention to detail with both the food and drink is incredible. Highly recommend

Just not enough words to say how much I enjoyed my lunch at Skosh. The food was amazing. I was there on Saturday 16th December for lunch with my daughter. From start to finish we couldn't stop saying wow. We shared 6 small plates and 2 sweet dishes. Along with wine and cocktails. The boring stuff, staff were very helpful, couldn't do enough for you, leaving you to just enjoy. The restaurant was busy, very clean, and I liked the idea of an open kitchen. Rest room, no problems. All in all I think this is one of my favourite restaurants.

Absolutely fantastic!!The staff are extremely welcoming, professional and courteous.The food was delicious and I love the concept.One of the best eating experiences I've had and I highly recommend it to anyone.We sat next to the kitchen area and it was wonderful to watch the chefs at work.

This restaurant is amazing. Annual catch-up with friends we’ve eaten at some lovely restaurants and Skosh did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted heavenly, served by informative staff who seemed to absolutely love their jobs. Would highly recommend.

This has to be my favourite place to visit. The food is fresh, original and totally amazing. The staff are really friendly, knowledgeable and extremely efficient. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, unlike some of it’s contemporary establishments. It’s always a wonderful experience to visit Skosh.

Simply the best contemporary restaurant in the North of England! We love it! Neil and his team are something else! ... It feels like they are a family of food innovators who love to share their dishes with us. There's a presence of passion and pride in a really low key way. The variety of dishes served is amazing and the wines are excellent and good value for money. Theres no need to talk about specific dishes here ... The wait list at Skosh says it all! And what we really appreciate is that in the context of a constant stream of custom, the staff always recognise and appreciate us and we do them!

Everything about this dinner experience was fantastic from the welcoming staff to the unique menu. York was very busy when we visited and we were debating if a 9.15pm dinner was too late in the evening but the lure of an interesting menu swung it for us and we're so glad we chose Skosh. This was the highlight of our weekend.
Not sure how or why it took us so long to eat here, but it won’t be long until we do it again. Amazing food, super atmosphere and attentive but extremely professional service made the whole experience one to savour. Thank you!

The reviews probably say it all already. This is one of York's best restaurants. I would put it alongside Cafe No. 8 and Meltons as the best restaurant in York, well above Roots, the Ivy or The Rectory. The food is just right in my view. Their is invention and flair, but it isn't up its own bum. Its does fabulous food without pretention. The wine list is great - love it that there is so much choice by the glass, which is rare. The service is also excellent. Every one who served us was warm and knowledgeable. There are no bad dishes but the celeriac, hens egg and steak (particularly their version of 'frites' that comes with it) are worth a special mention. Skosh has recently become one of the few places we go to regularly.

We were looking forward to going to Skosh for its interesting approach to food. What they have is essentially tapas-style - small plates. The food was presented well. It all looked great. But we felt that it was lacking in... "flavour" (for want of a better description). It was all nice - but not a single dish had that "wow" factor.It's a pity.
