The lightest lemon cake we have ever eaten! Together with very welcome hot drinks served by lovely staff. We will Definately be returning.

A mixture of their afternoon tea for one and beef and horse radish sandwich , baked potato and ice cream for the other. Very friendly, very efficient and very good quality.

Thought we would call in here for a drink. Didn't realise it was table service as nothing around to indicate this. So we waited at the counter for a while before asking the woman behind it. We were told it was table service so went and sat down, no menus on the tables and no-one came to take the order. I went up to the counter and was told abruptly in an aggressive manor that she will be there to take the order. The woman was obviously in a bad mood and stressed. Clearly not in the right job that requires customer service skills. Made our visit very awkward and uncomfortable. The whole atmosphere was tense.Badly run, unorganised with no information or greeting. We were not the only ones to think this.......

Sadly we arrived at 15.25pm (open until 4pm ) to be told they couldn’t cut a slice of cake from those on the counter and could only offer drinks so we took our business elsewhere.

What a strange experience visiting this cafe, if your expecting a friendly welcome and hospitality then this place hasn't got it, the woman behind the counter was rude, stressed and in a bad mood, she spoke to our group in a raised voice, we ordered a drink but couldn't wait to leave, such a shame. Also the toilet was dirty and smelled strong of urine.

Lovely little place with very friendly service and outdoor seating. For us, they put our lunch in takeaway boxes so we could enjoy the sunshine on the green.Had a delicious chicken mayo sandwich with salad.

Popped in after a visit to the nearby Ryedale Folk Museum.Fast & friendly service, excellent coffee, but the highlight was the lemon drizzle cake, absolutely amazing!Rest of the menu looked very appealing, & would certainly recommend

If you was expecting a nice homemade chilli you are going to be very disappointment when very watery like out of Poundland tin of chilli if you put it through a fine drainer you will be lucky to find a piece of mince and there was four kidney beans in it woohoo not cheap I would not serve that to anyone I would be
