OMG what a fantastic find, we wanted somewhere for food and a couple of drinks before we went to the Barbican.The choice of real ales were great, my hubby was in his element. The prices were so good, just £3.88 for two halves.However the food was the real star, Steve had The Hangman's burger and it was HUGE, the chips were what I'd call 'real' chips and the onion rings were also perfect.I had the Cajun chicken burger and the quality was equally as good.Lovely atmosphere with a good range of music playing too.No option to add photos.

Only ventured in as part of a 'beers from the wood' event, but it was fun and friendly with a good selection of beers. Will definitely add to my list of places to visit whenever I'm in Yok.

Sadly only a very brief visit this time as the place was heaving on Thursday Quiz night. Just a quick half from a bank of 4 real ales. Jorvic and Pailicarus too tired to stand after a long day out! It is an excellent pub just outside the city walls.

Fantastic pub. Lots of choice for beers, ales and lagers, as well as other options. The pizzas are great and there's a decent menu to choose from. Cozy outdoor seating too. Certainly a place to visit on a trip to York.

Great pub, the food was amazing and the staff were super friendly and helpful. It is slightly outside the city walls but worth the short walk to try their selection of great beers.
Come here a few times in the last couple of weeks. Really can’t fault the place.Friendly staff, excellent choice on the bar and the food is great. It’s also very reasonably priced. Love it! ??

My absolute favourite haunt in York, just outside the city walls. Drinks are extremely reasonably priced which makes it a popular hotspot among students and the food is always a decent portion. Service is quick and the staff are lovely. With board games and and a free pub quiz on Thursday evenings what more could you want? Would love to see the cheesecake out on the deli counter more often though!
