Lots of empty shelves and boxes

Shame to see the store slowly deteriorating. The roof is leaking so constantly walking around the shop cautiously as there can be puddles or food on shelves can be wet. There is a lot of signal issues which affects the scanning app on the phone which affects whether items have been added to cart etc (which doesn’t help as the app crashes enough as it is too (which also affects items being added to cart so there’s issues at quality check) - I’ve left a review for this on the App Store too as it’s put me in a lot of bother recently so be careful!). When I’ve explained network issues to the staff at tills they said it’s to do with the roof and/or building so they seem to be aware of it but it happens most times I'm there, particularly at the back of the store. I have tried to rectify situation by connecting to wifi but it doesn’t appear to be public which isn’t ideal for those who use the scanners on their phones - maybe look into arranging this to reduce issues with scanning app. There also seems to be a stock issue as I’ve not seen the place well stocked out in well over a year, with the stock they have not having a great date (especially for meats and free from food which I have regularly bought out of date). It would also seem that there’s a recruitment issue as there’s a lack of staff to help and there only seems to be 1 or 2 manned tills which have crazy long queues (which is why I have to use the app for shopping - but this also has a long list of issues so there’s no happy medium). I’ve had a lot of issues with the scanning app recently and I’ve decided it’s not worth the hassle using the app so plan on returning to tills but if they appear understaffed, I will likely have to look to shop elsewhere as it’s all becoming too stressful. On the other hand, the staff are lovely. I’ve never had any issues with the staff, they’ve all been happy to help. I’ve had issues with the scanning app and the staff were very understanding. The till staff have been lovely at every encounter. I’ve spoken to the manager on 2 occasions and both times he’s been quite lovely and reassuring. To summarise, I think the buildings structural issues and stock issues and issues with the scan and go app are outside of the stores control, I’d imagine this comes from a higher level and is not down to the store and the staff itself, who are lovely.

Awful experience at the click and collect today 24/02/24 at approx 1525 hrs with a member of staff who on every occasion I am there is unfriendly, rude and very unhelpful. I will make a formal complaint in writing with more detail regards the employee.

Doing my weekly shop when I overheard one of the managers talking about one of his female coworkers in a revolting manner , I will not be shopping here again.

Miniscule male clothing section ... typical ?.Aisle upon aisle of women's clothing (because women obviously need clothes more than men right ?) .Limited homewears department.Plenty of food aisles , however there are always short falls on the shelves with lots of items out of stock .The store is Clean and bright , *** WARNING*** however for the past several years the roof has been leaking in multiple places across the store predominantly around the dry foods and bakery section and spreading to the frozen section too . it is clear asda has made some attempts to trap this water by starting with buckets all over the store to applying plastic to the ceiling & hoses directing the leaking rain water into buckets THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, BIRDS LIVE AND DEFECATE ON THE ROOF , THAT MEANS "POO JUICE" HAS BEEN LEAKING THROUGH THE ROOF ONTO FOOD !!!!!Asda fix your roof , just close for a week & re-roof the store.

At 9.30am on Feb 21 We went to do our weekly shop. When we got there the cupboard was bare...no Tena pads, no scallions, no breaded bass. No shopping...we went to Tesco and got all we needed...no problem. This seems to be a recurring problem lately, so I think Tesco will be our first call in future

I just wanted to leave a review praising Martin, a lovely, warm and welcoming member of staff who always makes our Asda trip 100% brighter. Always there for a friendly chat and never fails to pick up from the last conversation we had visiting the store, he truly is an asset to the team and deserves to be recognised!

One of the best Asdas, huge range of stock, clothes, homeware, food, alcohol etc

Has become a shambles, place is filthy. Seen more food on the shelves during Covid, just cardboard everywhere. Freezers always bare and disgusting. The prices are utter madness. Management need the money to fix the place, or they need let go. Won't visit again.

Oh dear, what a mess of a supermarket, holes in the roof, trollies not collected quick enough, rows of poorly stocked shelves, the layout of the entire store doesn't make sense, overall very shabby store

Easily the worst asda I have been in the place is an absolute mess more cardboard on the shelves than stock cardboard on the floor stock on the floor u can't find anything on the shelves for the amount of cardboard . Management really need to take a long hard look at themselves nothing 2 or 3 rumbles a day wouldn't fix. I have worked in retail for nearly 20 years and have never seen a store like this and absolute disgrace in my opinion I was there at 2 o'clock on a Saturday I dare to think wat it looks like at 5 in the evening. Such a shame .

Sad to see the slow decay of this store, which was previously one of the best supermarkets in NI. The (authentic) Google reviews all highlight the same issues: low stock levels, dirty shelves, leaking roof, rubbish everywhere, and disorganised displays. The responses from ASDA are always generic, even though the above issues have been reported throughout 2023, and I can only assume that whatever 'investigation' they are promising has not happened yet.Whatever is going on behind the scenes relating to staff retention, management policies, maintenance contracts, etc, it is fairly clear that this store needs to be temporarily closed to allow for critical recovery steps to be taken such as roof repairs and a complete deep clean.

Edit - to answer the reply. I will say a lot of these are likely outside of the store's fault, given the current state of things on a more national level post brexit and covid and other supermarkets experiencing similar issues at least locally to me. However, I must say that out of all of them, Asda is the one that is often missing stock or having lesser quality items remaining. Every time I have gone for a decent shop, there is always at least one item (often multiple) off my list I can't get cause there is simply no stock for it. This is a shame because the asda Rewards app is very rewarding, for lack of a better word, compared to other supermarket apps with some sort of point/reward system. But there is many a time where I just chance my arm at tesco or sainsbury instead because I find they often do not have the same level of issue of stock. Also, the store has leaking issues for quite some time now, something I also don't see elsewhere. That is something the store can fix and chooses not to, for reasons I don't understand cause not only is it unsightly, it's a health hazard. Both to staff and customers.Other than that, staff are wonderful and helpful, and I never really have any issues using the scan as you go app in store (as it also innovatively helps me find specific items in specific aisles rather then find a staff member, which again i can not claim for other scan as you go apps). Plus, the asda Rewards app is one of the better supermarket apps out there imo.
