We booked Ava for my nieces 16th as it's her favourite restaurant. Lovely atmosphere when we arrived in,so cosy and nicely decorated for Xmas. Food was exceptional and service was very good.

Service was excellent, I had the Xmas 3 course meal, roast beef, plenty of - tick, their winter veg - could do with being held to something above 45 degrees, hard as rock, the two old dears I was with had no chance slicing into their Brussels, and as for their dentures, Mr gray their dentist might have a few choice words. Ask the cooks to see if they can prod the veg from now on, not all of us like veg rock hard, if this is their personal taste, they should move forward with their customer in mind, in future I will let the staff know whether I want my veg rare, medium rare or well done just as I stipulate my preference with a steak.

Really nice here. I went several years back when it was under different management, but I'm glad to see it fully transformed and have charm. Their salad and toasties are wonderful and their garlic chips are to die for without having to shell out a fortune for a nice meal. Genuinely excited to taste more of their menu :)

Went for lunch last Friday. The food was freshly cooked and tasty. There was a good selection to choose from catering for all tastes, and the service was fantastic. All in all, a great dining experience

4 friends for lunch and always found The Ava great. We spent over £200 ....hd lunch laughs and tears, as my Sister is ill and we all needed a chat. We were told to be quiet, by a young guy behind the bar... Really.... the place was dead very quiet Then told our table was reserved.... can we leave. Unbelievable....they took our booking for 14th December, but we will not be BACK. WHERE are all the old staff. Place is a joke Ps I've laughed at The Ritz , The Shard The Merchant..... The Ava pmsl

A relaxing place for a meal, nice decor, great menu with good specials, though we've only tried a few things so far, they've all been great and good value. Really nice, friendly staff, who've always got time for you, couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommended.

We popped in for a drink to decide on whether to eat or not. We decided not. Staff were great, Guinness was good, lovely lounge but something missing. Had a look at the menu. Interesting but at a price point higher than the equivelant in London?

Lunch here regularly always spot on had a bad experience with the ploughmans lunch a few years ago wafer thin ham not good but decided to give another chance today Baked gammon/ham delicious as was everything else except the tasteless cheese slices like rubber how hard would it be to buy a big chunk of mature cheddar this would make this meal perfect Will be back interested on what you think of this suggestion

The food was excellent but it was not our first choice as that was sold out. We were advised that one of the site's choices was one to "die for", unfortunately that was the one that was off, at time we visited. There was no warning when we booked that there might be unavailable items on the excellent menu at the time I reserved our table A part from that a very enjoyable evening., Can't recommend any dishes as none of us had any of those listed below. It was the beef we wanted, and my daughter enjoyed the SalmonWheelchair accessibility: No problem

We has Back Forest and Raspberry white chocolate frangipane both were lovely. The Staff Lee and Manager Philipe I hope that's right both where very helpful pleasant we will be back. Thank You

The Waiting staff are very friendly and attentive. If you ask for a recommendation they will be on hand to tell you it. The portions are a good size and the food is very tasty. The cocktail menu has lots of Choice and if you can’t see a cocktail you like on the menu they will always accommodate you. Good value for money and plenty of parking near by.

My friend and I visit for lunch regularly. The Ava is genuinely faultless. Food choice is great and quality of good is 5 star. The staff are efficient , welcoming and friendly. Have eaten in some other restaurants in Bangor recently and been very disappointed ? The Ava is consistently great, cannot recommend highly enough

Great food let down by absolutely terrible service. Waited half an hour to be served, then when the food came, had to remind the waiters to:Bring enough glasses for everyone at the tableBring the right drinks (alcohol served to someone ordering a non alcoholic drink)Bring a steak knife for a steakBring the sauces the meal was advertised to come with.Finished food and then had to wait for another half hour for the table to be cleared. Asked for the desert menu, then had to ask again for the desert menu that came included in the meal deal. Desert came, and then started to clear our plates while one of our party was still eating, and handed us the bill minutes later. Saved from a one star because the food was top notch but the complete shambles of the staff, most of whom were standing round the bar doing nothing, is shocking. Shouldn't have to be clearing our own plates and then waving to three waiters talking round the bar to get the table cleared.

On my way to the train after a walk decided to have lunch. Ordered fish and chips. The food was tasty enough nothing special. Have to say for a pint, fish, chips, mushy peas and two slices of bread was £25.35 bit OTT.
