“Belfast is blessed with some of best pubs anywhere, and the Dark Horse is definitely among them. Like so many pubs in Belfast, its interior is a beautiful Victorian building with wood panelling, plush chairs, polished brass, ornate mirrors, and fancy chandeliers. Also notable is its back courtyard which features tongue-and-cheek murals of Irish history in a way that only Belfast could do. Moreover, the staff are very warm and friendly. The selection of beers is alright, and they do of course serve the black stuff. Unsurprisingly, the pub is a little expensive by Belfast standards, but actually the costs are decent by UK standards, and I couldn't recommend this (or most any pub in the cathedral quarter) enough”

“Had an Ulster fry a few times upon our stay in Belfast the food sizing was small the milkshake say made with ice cream but you can taste only syrup apart from that staff is ”

“On the edge of Belfast, near what looks like an industrial estate, lies Northern Ireland’s best kept secret. A patisserie that puts to shame any in London and most in Paris. A true gem in the rough.Where to start; such delicious and creamy Paris Brest, perfectly tart lemon meringue pie, delicately balanced eclairs, warm, flaky buttery croissants. Lazy Claire came as a delightful surprise on the first day and rapidly became the highlights of our days. Fuelling up with every pastry available and single origin coffee while taking large to-go boxes full of ‘one of everything’ to face the rainy days that count as NI’s summers.The Patisserie Chef (french trained) could probably teach a thing or two to some of the Grand Chefs out there. Cedric Grolet and the Connaught should visit for tips. Charming team, friendly service and quite an experience. Please open new branches in London to show them how its done!”

“Had Rekki with Janet today. WOW She is amazing! Made me feel totally at ease and was spot on with everything she told me after the session. I have left feeling much more empowered and ready to do everything I need to thanks to her healing hands. Got a few bits in the shop which she explained in great detail the purpose and how to use. “If you want amazing food and drink, friendly service and a cosy cafe this is the spot. The chef goes above and beyond nothing is a bother to him and the girls who work there are always pleasant and friendly. Honestly I have been to many cafes in belfast this year but I just love this cafes ”

“Super friendly place. Staff really helpful, and great choice of food. I particularly enjoy their omelets. I have stomach problems and while omelets are one of my favourite things for breakfast, I have struggled to find a place where I don't feel ill after eating one. I don't know what Toast does differently, but theirs always agrees with me!”

“Friendly staff with a great knowledge of coffee. Latte was great, but the Apple Butter Latte (normally without coffee but add a shot!) is amazing. We came here all three days of our visit, really enjoyed the coffee and had the apple cinnamon waffles for breakfast on our last day, a really unusual but great option and something very different. Staff helped us pick (and ground) some coffee, very knowledgeable on each one, tasting notes etc.”
