We used to love this place! The last couple of times we’ve been now though it has changed. Last night, my family went and like the previous time, the service was very slow. There were only two or three tables that I could see occupied within the restaurant itself. We were told “the chippy is busy”. There were three adults and two children at my table. There was a long wait for the food to arrive and my father ordered a fry, which only arrived when the rest of us had nearly finished our meals. The quality of the fry wasn’t great either, very greasy and seemed to be bulked out by various pieces of fried bread. Not a slice of bacon to be seen. It didn’t taste overly great either I’m told. I personally always get the chicken maryland, but the frustrating thing is, every time I go it is always served differently. We walked away disappointed unfortunately. They did not charge for the fry when it came to paying, but the reduction would’ve been asked for if not offered.

We had our breakfast in the vines yesterday morning before we went on our hen party.It was so good as always & piping hot. There’s a lovely friendly atmosphere.The staff are very good too very helpful. And also if Brenda is around she always comes over to speak to her customers. Such a lovely lady. I would highly recommend the Vines Garvagh to anyone. Thanks again Brenda. xx
