Bit of a queue but it moved swiftly and the food was delicious.

Average enough food, mostly chips and watery beans. 45 minute wait for an overpriced meal.

Personally really enjoyed this place went for a family day out and it was brilliant seems like a lovely wee family place. Was nice to try something different. Wasn’t a fan of the guy taking the orders, he seemed irritated and fed up when taking ours which put a dampener on the excitement. Which is not really acceptable considering we are paying for the service. Only issue with the food was that when it came out it was cold! Fries cold. All was delicious but too big massive amounts of chips just going in the bin because it’s too big portions. Food all delicious though. We ran down from Lisburn to try it. Wouldn’t say we’d be rushing back every weekend but it’s worth a try!

1st Time at Holy Smokes, there wasn't too big a queue, considering it was a Friday night. The food was unbelievable, well worth a visit.

Excellent smash burgers & loaded chicken fries, took a lot of it home as portions are huge. Great value for money and the owner talks to everyone 1-1. Lovely experience!

Overrated place. With rude staff. (Except the guy in the car park, lovely man) Mac and cheese was inedible(not what i saw in pictures )- soupy and sloppy with 5 macaroni in it. Chips cold, short rib tasty, but was barely meat on it. When i complained about this to owner, he made clear to keep my complains to myself. Said "lets agree to disagree" and walked away... Unpleasant experience, after 45 min wait...

The food was beautiful, completely worth the wait. The ginger fella who took our order was so rude, couldn’t believe the pure cheek of him, made ordering extremely awkward. Would really put me off returning.

Heard about this place from FRC. Out in the sticks. As expected it was busy but we were happy to wait. I like the size of the menu. Just a few items to choose from. We knew we wanted the short ribs. We were originally going to get a portion each but when we seen the size of them we knew that 1 would do for the 2 of us. The guy that took our order was quite miserable looking, looking like he was fed up with his job. He was pleasant enough when speaking to but it does impact the customer experience when you have unhappy staff. Although saying that, there was a friendly guy that came around the tables to clear up and make sure everyone was ok. Also the guy that was on duties of parking attendant was also very friendly and I had a good chat with him when I was leaving.I had placed one cheek at the table and then my order was ready to be collected! Incredibly fast. They obviously had everything pre-made ready to go. I noticed that people ordering burgers had to wait a while longer as they were clearly being made to order. Firstly, the short ribs were brilliant! Fell right off the bone and had a lovely glaze. fries were fine but an absolutely enormous portion. Small bit of corn bread and some beans which were awfy gid! On the picture advertisement for the short ribs, there was a few bits of corn bread but we only got 1. This wasn’t a concern for us but just thought I’d point out false advertising. My biggest disappointment, and the main reason I am nit not getting a 5, is the amount of waste. Each dish comes with an absolute mountain of fries which could serve 3 alone. So if you have a party there is going to be a tonne of leftover fries. We witnessed this exactly. We seen a few families all getting a dish each (even the kids) and they couldn’t finish half of it. I understand it’s the customers choice on what they order but I feel that if they made the fries as an added side then there would be less waste. Also giving customers a heads up about the portion sizes would also help.Overall, we enjoyed our experience here. Tasty food. Reasonable value as well.

Had a meal this evening and OMG! The meat is so good. It's tender, juicy and tasty. I had the short rib meat just fell apart. Tried some of the pork ribs the size of the pork rib is huge. It's well juicy and again meat pulls apart so easy. The beans are to die for. One of my kids is fussy about their burger meat. So when they polish a burger and fries off you know it's good. Will definitely be heading back again and can hardly wait for the next feed. 5* all the way.Parking: On site parking had no issue and you park right outside the venue.Kid-friendliness: My kids really enjoyed the food. Portions are big so kids can share some meals.

After months of waiting, I finally managed to fly over from London to get my hands on this short rib! Absolutely incredible pot of beans with bustling flavour from the joint, decent Mac&Cheese with a pounding smash burger! Will surely be back again!!!A little disappointed they didn’t have gluten free options..

The food here was to die for. I think probably the best brisket and short rib I've ever had and I've had BBQ pretty much all over. Everything was soft, juicy and just falling apart it was that fresh. We definitely over ordered for ourselves but I don't regret that at all. The owner came around and checked on every table and recommended that we take away the loaded chicken fries to go as that is as good the next day and I would definitely agree. We've already recommended the place to multiple people and are already planning our next visit!

Been looking to try this place for a while, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. The food and the portions are mighty. Great tastes and flavours, be prepared to queue up but its well worth the wait. We brought leftovers home. Absolutely stuffed. 10 outta 10

It's great to have this kind of restaurant in northern ireland. It's a rustic venue but it has character and fits the food theme. We queued for 1 and half hours so be ready for a wait. The food portions were generous but then the meals are not cheaply priced at £23 for the beef short rib. The beef short rib was very tender and the spicy bbq sauce is the way to go. The brisket was also tender and well flavoured. The bean side is way too sweet. Its like eating beans in a spicy sugar sauce. Our corn bread was dry and really didn't taste of much. The pork rib had a good flavour but was dry and tough on the exterior that was exposed to the heat.
