I know one can get a bad meal anywhere but my husband and myself went for dinner tothe Alcheny. I had the beef and bIrd and my husband got plaice. We were told there was only one piece of fish left so we ordered it . On my husbands plate were two little pieces that reminded me of Tescos own fish portions you would buy in the plastic bags out of the freezer. We ordered onion rings which were breaded. It was difficult to actually find the orion in them They were so overcooked when you cut into them they shot off the plate. we never complain, but this meal was not what i would expect from a top restaurant . When we spoke to the manager all we got was sorry and i hope this does not stop you coming back. Sorry folks i would not feed my family food as poor as this . Hence this review

A couple of meals here over the last couple of months. We have always sat outside. I can honestly say that the outside seating is comfortable. The staff are friendly and attentive. The menu is comprehensive. The food is tasty and well priced. I would happily return.

Had a meal tonight Sunday 30 April for my sons birthday. Extremely disappointed ? One starter sweet chili chicken 3 amall pieces ..poor value and lacked in taste. My main chili chicken in Bao buns. 2 large buns hard&chewy with small pieces of chicken smothered in sauce on each. Extremely disappointed..for the price overall ..will not return in the foreseeable future?

Worst sunday roast dinner ever.2 thin slices of roast beef curled at the edges. A jacket potato that was grey inside. Mash was ok.No Yorkshire pudding, no roasties and very few veg.Never again

Wouldn’t give a negative review without a second chance. Having American family visiting we ate out a bit and twice in one week to this restaurant. Thoroughly dissatisfied with quality of food. The Chowder appetizer was cool, flavorless and filled with potatoes. More like a stew. The next visit the special roast beef was like a thin slice of shoe leather. Tasteless and chewy. The shoulder of lamb was also overcooked, stringy and flavorless. The coffee was bitter and old. Ate out a third night at the Ramore Portrush. Packed to the rafters and food was absolutely delicious. Northern Ireland cuisine was redeemed with our foreign visitors. The wait staff at the Alchemy were pleasant and the gin and tonic was enjoyable. Thoroughly disappointed in food and will skip until I hear improving reviews.

After a superb meal in the restaurant last weekend, we decided to treat the family to Easter Sunday carvery. We couldn't find much information about what to expect at the carvery, so will give as much detail as possible hereThe carvery isn't served in the restaurant. It's in a large function room which felt a bit like a mass-produced Christmas dinner hall on arrival. We booked for the latest booking at 3:45pm before the carvery finished at 4pm so we were slightly worried about the quality/quantity of food remaining. On the plus side, at 3:45pm the dining area was less than half full and no queus for foodThe starter consisted of hot vegetable soup and plenty of fresh bread. There were 2 hot dishes of spicy chicken wings and bbq ribs, both delicious. The cold selection included a bowl of prawns, chicken caesar salad, and 3 other salad dishes - noodle, cous cous etcThe main consisted of plentiful portions of roast beef, turkey, ham and stuffed pork accompanied by roast and mash potato, carrot, parsnip and turnip cubes, creamed cabbage and leek, stuffing, cocktail sausages. Although we were the last table to be served, everything was hot.We would have preferred the food to be served on warm plates, and Yorkshire puddings would have made it perfectDesserts included small portions of apple cake, carrot cake, chocolate torte, Eton mess, and profiteroles and a bowl of fresh cream. Unfortunately I didn't notice any diabetic alternativesTea/coffee served from flasks were fine to end the mealOn the whole, a very good meal for £25 each and good table service from the waiting staff, we will definitely return

So clean. Friendly servers who accommodated us and the burgers were amazing! Can't wait to go again.

Booked the carvery for Mother's Day. Starters and mains were underwhelming but the desserts were really dreadful - mini cheesecakes which were obviously from Iceland or similar, and tiny pieces of dry chocolate cake. Disappointed to say the least.

Mother's Day lunch was disappointing. Potatoes and veg nice but meat was not the best, tough. Some of my party who were with me didn't eat their meat or finish their dinner.

Just left The Alchemy Moira and had a lovely meal with my family. Service was excellent and no request was too much. Food was also great. We will be back.

This is a lovely friendly restaurant. The atmosphere is friendly, peaceful and relaxing. The staff are 1st class, they are super friendly and efficient. They are really helpful and respectful of their customers. The food is glorious. It is prepared to perfection and extremely well displayed. I love this place, it is now my favourite eating out place.Vegetarian options: I noticed there was vegetarian on the menu. I'm sure if you asked, they could inform you of these dishes.Kid-friendliness: I did not have any children with me, but I did notice a sign that said children under five eat free. I didn't enquire about this.Parking: The restaurant has its own parking around the back. There are plenty of spaces provided, so there is no problem with safe parking.

Food is fantastic, their steaks are unbelievable flavor, cooked as per request , a good sign of any restaurant is clean plates getting lifted from tables

Terrible , avoid completely. Run down appearance outdoor areas and entrance needs power hosed and cleaned. Went for Sunday lunch , taken into what was a dance floor !! Dark dingy terrible interior , felt dirty , no tablecloths , chefs looked unkempt unorganised and unprofessional., no table settings no condiments…… just terrible. Food slopped onto plate , food tasteless and luke warm . Sorry I have nothing positive at all to add. Staff uninterested , left without dessert & coffee ( wouldn’t chance ). Glad to leave !!!! One last point a super sere gas heater in middle of floor to heat the venue . Definitely sub standard .
