Had this place booked for three weeks they cancelled whilst on the ferry from Scotland. Book here at your own risk or rather don't book somewhere else. This hotel has been removed from hotels.com because it is unreliable.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Showed up at check in time 3pm. All doors closed no one around to let us in, never mind check us in. Called reception numerous amounts of times, no answer. Eventually got a contact number from the veg shop next door. Called the lady who proceeded to tell us she would be another hour. Ridiculous!! We said that wasn't good enough as we had somewhere to be which had already started and she needed to get there to check us in. She said she would leave our key hidden outside somewhere for when we got back (how professional?) We said absolutely not as we could have been getting scammed. She didn't like our 'attitude' and told us to leave the property and she wasnt coming to check us in. This is after we paid IN FULL! There was another couple staying in there, exact same experience. They arrived the day before and was told to wait to get checked in. So they went to the pub with all their bags until god knows what time to be finally checked in. Disgrace!

DO NOT STAY HERE scam hotel it is closed but they are still taking bookings and no refund disgusting kip. Owner is horrible woman we eventually got in contact with her to ask why hotel is closed she was so ignorant and told us to find somewhere else to stay after taking our money. AVOID!!!!

Visited with my wife for Sunday lunch. We both ordered ribs but waitress came back to say they had only one rib lunch left. I then ordered chilli chicken for myself. When meals arrived my wifes ribs was only a half portion and my meal was tasteless. We had heard that standards had dropped since we were last there nearly a year ago.(We're not from the area.) Recently heard they had improved and was worth a visit. Was a big mistake to eat there. Would advise anyone to give it a miss!

My first dealings with the Boyles Coach Hotel was via a website which gave the BCH excellent reviews and with that I booked a room for the night. Some 2 weeks passed and I received a telephone call from Conor MacSherry who confirmed my stay and then proceeded to further reduce the price by 25%. So my immediate thoughts for the hotel were excellent and I hadn’t even stayed. He then contacted my 2 brother in laws and offered the same reduction and all this without the need to haggle. The day of my stay was fraught and we had to visit 4 airports just to get to our destination in Emyvale and to visit the grave of my wife’s late father. (long story..!) We eventually arrived at the hotel at 6pm on a dark and dreary night and our immediate thoughts was to get to our rooms and relax. We walked into the bar area where there were a group of people in high spirits and the rugby was being shown on the large television. Colin greeted us warmly and showed to our rooms making some talk all the while. It was apparent the hotel had some extensive works and it was clean, cosy and the rooms were of a high standard against the price paid. We quickly dropped of our luggage, had a shower to freshen up and proceeded down stairs to the bar.The bar area was small but there were plenty of room for us to sit by the open fire, order our beers and then just relax. We were then greeted by the staff who enquired whether we were eating and recommended several items on the menu. We ordered our food which arrived all together, piping hot and smelling delicious. (Ribs combo, fish and chips and steak burger) We then ordered the banofee pie which despite our full belly’s, was dispatched within minutes. The food was excellent and there was more than enough on the plates to satisfy 6 hungry people. The bar and kitchen staff were tentative to our needs and professional at all times ensuring our satisfaction. Elizabeth was our main point of contact that evening and we found her, courteous, warm, friendly as well as very humble, top girl. The room that night was warm, comfortable and despite the music from the bar down stairs along with some boisterous patrons (expected on a Saturday night) allowed for good nights sleep. We had the continental breakfast due to our early departure form the hotel so unable to comment on the full English breakfast ?.In all, an excellent hotel with excellent staff so we’ll be returning in the near future, thank you.

My family really enjoyed our stay at Boyles Coach House. From the moment we checked in until it was time to go, the owner and staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We had our toddler with us and not only were the staff welcoming, but they went out of their way to make sure our child was happy - even going so far as to bring him an "off-menu" breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms bright and clean. There is off-street parking that is secured at night. The food in the pub downstairs was wonderful. I can't say enough great things about this place. We will definitely book here again when traveling north.

Took 13 mins to receive the drinks we ordered and we waiting 34 mins just for our starter (soup of the day) never received I canceled my order paid for our drinks and went elsewhere I remembered this place was great and it's really just gone to the dogs and the owner doesn't seem to care. Complained to the staff they just shrugged there shoulders very very disappointed!

We stopped at Boyles while on the hop on bus tour. I reccomend the fish and chips and the steak. We also had a good Guinness.

Great looking Sunday lunch menu plenty of choice. Starter Bang bang chk v tasty with lite salad. We both got steak ribeye for myself and sirloin for hubby. It was nice to have the choice of what cut meats we preferred was pleasant to see.. Both steaks cooked to our liking accompanied with large side and veg. Hard to beat gorgeous.. We got greedy ordered the ferro rocha cheesecake again big portion (ain't complaining) but glad we shared one. Only regret that I didn't take any pics. Value for money here at very reasonable prices. Hats off to the chef

Had Sunday carvery. Very disappointing. Meat dry, food lukewarm and def not to standard of other carveries in area. Cheesecake had synthetic taste. Strange choice of desserts, all very heavy eg fudge cake, brownie, s toffee pudding, apple crumble. This carvery lets down what is normally a nice place for lunch. Def will never have carvery again. Chef seemed to begrudge giving enough veg etc where other places you can have plenty of the veg, gravy etc which after all is the cheaper bit to supply. Maybe he was holding on to it to use at the pensioners cheap dinner the next day!
