Took my mother for her 70th birthday, and I had heard great things about this place getting a revamp. Maybe what we experienced was not the norm, but it was shocking. Poor service, bland food, and a cramped restaurant you couldn't hear yourself think, never mind, speak to the rest of your table.Was introduced to our "waitress" only to never see her again after our drinks order. Starters arrived with bits missing, maybe they ran out, maybe they forgot them, I'll never know, cause the food was left. Tried to get several peoples attention as one of the starters was a sharing platter for 2, only there was no plate to share with! Mains came much later and again bits missing, no explanation, nothing. We were brought a dessert menu, but no one ever came to take the order... people appeared to be going on break, servers getting their coats on and walking past clicking lighters, or getting their dinner.I walked up to the counter to pay the bill, and I'm guessing she could see from my face I was extremely unhappy, as not a "hope everything was all right," just the receipt. She was far too busy being chatty with the 2 young male servers with her.I'm sure they're normally better than they were that night, but the food was tasteless. It looked good, but there were no seasonings, bland, dry.With 3 other really good restaurants in spitting distance of this place, I'll pass next time and head to one of those.

perfect location on a very cold day, the fire was a welcome sight. We both had the honey chilli chicken one with rice and one with chunky chips in garlic butter absolute perfection and no problem with changing the side dish. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Grace Neil's.

Had been away for Xmas and missed the new opening of refurb. Boy did I get a surprise. Grace Neill's is stunning. The decor has changed so much but the staff are as good as always.Paul you have a good team there. What a difference it's amazing.All the best of luck in the world.Love this place.

We were here for Christmas dinner, and to be honest we were kind of disappointed. Starters were all lovely, but quite a few of our party had steaks for main course and they were all very fatty this is excusable if it was one steak on the table but it was them all. We never mentioned this on the day as it was Christmas Day so we just got on with it and didn’t want a fuss but when paying the Christmas Day prices you expect quality food, maybe not the chefs fault maybe the butcher needs changed. Apart from the steaks everything else was perfect.
Excellent service,and he staff were so friendly, the food was delicious, especially the chocolate brownie,and the pirn star Martini was top notch, we had a wonderful experience.thano you so much.

We had a lovely meal with friends, this was our first visit and definitely hope to return. Food delicious and great service from friendly staff. We arrived not knowing it was steak night it ended up we all had steaks which were cooked as ordered.

We had a lovely evening in their restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service outstanding. What wonderful staff, very efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, especially to Kaya (hope I've spelt his name correctly!) who was our server for the night. Highly recommended and looking forward to the next time
