We always forget about the Taphouse as it's out of town, but whenever we do go it's well worth it. Great food, service with a smile and a lovely vibe. We played a few games with the kids, had a Sunday roast and a couple of drinks. Recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite, a special occasion or anything in-between.

We arrived at the restaurant for our first time and it appeared they did not have our booking even though I phoned earlier that day. We got seated in the end. The starter was nice, the Guinness treacle bread was lovely with the soup. We waited 45 mins for our main course to be served. No one came over to highlight the delay I had to highlight it by speaking to a waiter. They were apologetic and went in to find out what was going on. They came back to say our meal would be out shortly and was held up by a party of 21. I enjoyed my fish and chips but my partner did not enjoy his Thai red curry. It had a tomato passata sauce base instead of the standard coconut milk base. We sat beside the fire exit door and this was used by customers as an exit door for smoking. Every time it opened it blew a cold breeze in on us.

Food was delicious. Staff lovely. Really enjoyed our visit. My sons (9) a vegetarian and there was v little options for him but he loved the veggie soup and garlic bread. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Too few
