Incredible service and amazing food for a decent price. Went for dinner with my daughter, we both loved the squid starter. Very knowledgeable staff, felt safe as a coeliac with the many gluten free options provided.

I would not recommend eating here. It felt like there was no heating on, I was cold. The specials offered very fast, couldn't catch menu properly, told two courses good value. I ordered scallops then, to be told they weren't available. My son asked did he want his starter, soup served at same time as meal. With no time to think he accepted. I've never heard of that. Soup was wasted. No room on table for both dishes without being squashed. My meal bland, I left most of the beef. I didn't bother with my second course, dessert. The waiter did his best, but I wouldn't go back. My son ordered pork belly, just passable.

Here last night for dinner and its the worst place ive eaten yet.Service was very slow even tho it was the manager that was taking our orders.. A smile goes a long way.Ended up one of our party had to get up and go to the bar to order our drinks.

Very poor service.Waited for an hour and a half for a main course that never came. I asked the manager when it would be ready as I could not wait indefinitely. Curt reply was that they were very busy "on their feet all day and that it was not their problem" I had to leave. No smiles no refunds.

Had a meal in the Cardan last night. There was a table of 4 and we all were raving about the food. It was all delicious, portion size was perfect. The Guinness sticky toffee pudding was outstanding. I also had the chicken wings and pork schnitzel, both dishes were gorgeous. Talented kitchen team.We were served by a guy called Sean. Sean was an amazing host, was really chatty and friendly. Sean was a wizard when it came to cocktails and his knowledge of the various cocktails was astonishing. He made great recommendations. He worked the floor great and kept everyone on their toes.

The cardan has a lovely setting. The waiter was friendly and efficient. The meal however was a different story. The starter of soup was tasty and the bread roll was delicious. The main which was a chicken curry... the chicken was superb it came with a bed of veg which were bland and tasteless even the onion had lost its fight in taste. The curry sauce couldn't even make them come alive as it was weak in flavour too. The rice was perfect until I put the curry sauce on it . The crunchie cheese cake lacked any taste of a crunchie and was stodgy and again tasteless. Disappointed as previous visits to the cardin the food has always been tasty
Service slow but friendly. Food very basic. Vegetables were raw. Chicken nuggets tasted of dirty oil used for fish. Won't be visitors

Food is excellent here. Staff are helpful but could be more friendly. The only negative was how long the food took to come. Starter was quick but main course and dessert took a long time. We got a quick sorry when our desert arrived. It was also quite dark in the restaurant due to the main light being a small lamp. It really feels like a pub with a restaurant stuck on the side. Only two staff on plus whoever was in the kitchen, which may be one reason for the slow service. Good value for money. Enjoyed it but wouldn't rush back.Parking: Lots of on street parking in my experience in the surrounding area, particularly Wallace Avenue.

Lovely food here, pints are very good too. Both reasonably well priced. Staff were very friendly and courteous, and looked after their customers exceptionally well.

We had my dads 70th birthday party upstairs in the cardan, it was a fantastic night. The buffet food was lovely and the staff were great, couldn’t have been more helpful. I’d highly recommend it for a private function, we had around 60 people. Also the restaurant is lovely and well priced, I had the steak sandwich recently and it was cooked to perfection, my husband loved the bbq ribs as well, we hadn’t been for a while but food was as good as always! We’ll definitely be back soon! ?
