I recently dined at Cedar Lebanese Restaurant in Derry, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The chef deserves high praise for creating dishes that were not only delicious but also made with incredibly fresh ingredients. Every bite was bursting with authentic Lebanese flavors that left a lasting impression.Additionally, our waiter went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. They were attentive to our every need, and their politeness and professionalism were truly commendable. Their recommendations from the menu were spot-on, enhancing our overall enjoyment of the meal.Cedar Lebanese Restaurant is undoubtedly a gem in Derry, thanks to its outstanding chef and attentive staff. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience filled with flavorful Lebanese cuisine and impeccable service.

The online menu, which I had perused prior to my arrival, could only be described as underwhelming, with options so limited they seemed more akin to a snack menu than a proper dining experience. The starters, in particular, were daylight robbery. Not only were they lacking in flavor, but their presentation was equally uninspiring. Take, for instance, the Taboula, which, according to tradition, should have featured finely chopped parsley. Instead, what I received could be best described as a handful of parsley "clips" thrown haphazardly into a miniature bowl, for the princely sum of £5.99. The spinach fatayer, a mere pair for £6.99, was equally disappointing in taste and filling. As for the main courses, they veered toward the side of overpricing, though the taste did manage to salvage some degree of satisfaction.Authentic Lebanese cuisine, however, is a label that Ceder should steer clear of. It appears they may be attempting to cater to local palates, but authenticity is a distant memory here. The restaurant's atmosphere didn't do much to improve matters, as the closely packed tables left diners with just enough space to squeeze between them, leaving no room for privacy. A rather claustrophobic experience, to say the least. In sum, my time at Ceder felt like a brazen daylight heist, and I would be hard-pressed to recommend it to anyone seeking an "authentic" Lebanese culinary adventure. Authenticity, it seems, has gone on an extended vacation elsewhere.

A very classy restaurant. Excellent food - the mixed meza starter option is great value & beautifully presented. All the starters chosen were delicious, with a special shout out to the stuffed vine leaves which rarely wows me but did here, the fattoush and mun jad dra. Mains were also very good, the shawarma particularly so. It’s BYO, which also helps make it an excellent value for money experience. Service was relaxed, friendly, and well paced throughout. All in all, a delight.

lovely atmosphere, attentive service but food was so disappointing, particularly the main course grill dishes. chicken was hard and wooden skewer showed no evidence of grill! rice was rubbery from microwave. maybe vegan would have been wiser here.

Definitely best meal I've had in Derry/Londonderry by far. The service, the food the flavours are on our with Michelin Restaurant standards. I truly would eat here every week if I lived closer.

Small restaurant with a great atmosphere. Service was very efficient and friendly. We had a Meza Table Starter selection Then, for her main course my wife had the Lahem Meshwi and I had the Lamb Shawarma. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would recommend giving Cedar a try. Their prices are extremely reasonable and the fact that it's BYO is an added bonus!

Up from Dublin last week and was recommended the Cedar Restaurant for dinner. OMG ...the best food we have had in a very long time. Bernadette and Simon made us feel so welcome. Bernadette gave us great advice on what to eat. I am new to being vegan and there was such a great selection on the menu. Simon makes everything from scratch and everything we ate was delicious. If you are looking for a warm welcome, intimate setting and excellent food we can highly recommend Cedar. 12/10?

Had a great night in Cedar. Small restaurant with a great atmosphere and fantastic service and food. Tasting menu gives you a good spread of Meze starters followed by chicken / lamb and beef skewers with rice / potatoes and salad. Then a selection of baklava to finish. Highly recommended for the quality of food and the friendly service. Bring your own wine with a reasonable corkage charge of £2pp.
