Not bad

I really like Synge and Byrne and used to visit 2 or 3 times a week. However, since Newry reopened, the prices have gone up dramatically! I have just paid £10.40 for a wrap and a few, very few, fries. I had asked for fries instead of salads but had to pay extra for them. I was told that you have to pay for two salads whether you take them or not. I then paid £6.50 for a small americano and a tray bake. That's too expensive for my purse.Secondly, the Newry branch has now been reopened for several weeks and the prices are still not on display- nor could I see a menu.Thirdly, the food on offer has not changed in quite a while. I would have said I was bored with it, but then, I doubt I'll be eating much of it again since I really can't afford it.Finally, the atmosphere is not what it once was - I think I'm not the only person who finds it too expensive.

Great service, lovely food and coffee. Really enjoyed the vegan falafel wrap - with the sides included it was a good substantial plate of food at a reasonable enough price

Does not exist here. There is no restaurant. It's a construction site. The building has a big sign that says "Synge & Byrne" and their hours are posted on the door to tell you it's open. But there is no restaurant in this building. It's a construction site. It's unclear if it's still being built, or being remodeled.

The place was almost empty when we arrived, still a very long wait, for a disappointing breakfast. They closed the kitchen before the last person at our table ordered and refused service.Avacado not ripe, poached egg was rock solid, no waffles for the kids, kids eggs and toast may as well have been just toast.Coffee was good though, anything other than a coffee and cake I’d find somewhere else.

Is it too much to ask to expect a waitress, or a table menu? I found myself without my glasses, so had to stand directly in front of a poor man having his breakfast, as I strained to read the wall mounted menu above him, under the dim lighting. I felt it totally inappropriate, but had no choice. Sadly, this is another one of those pretentious places where style matters over substance. Where it doesn't matter that you have to queue up to order food (at the risk of losing your seat). Where you are invisible to the staff and where the food itself is overpriced, yet mediocre at best.

Today 23 September 10.00am breakfast. Very very disappointed. No porridge. No sausages. Avocado was hard. Got orders mixed up. Not a good experience at all. Visitors from Dubai and London. So many staff milling around but did not seem to be in control

Went for breakfast with my son after work. Both had ciabattas, very tasty.

Called in 15th Aug (though have visited several times in past) went for full breakfast and tea. Staff are reasonably pleasent and good service. Prices are OK for this type of establishment. Had fry before on previous visit and today's was just as before. Warm, non greasy presented well. Sausage has to be catering type as it lacks flavour. I presume the greenage is spinach (on a breakfast???) it gets left on plate. Eggs, bacon, mushroom all good. Fresh tomato could do with more cooking. No beans. All in all, fry is passable, nowhere near quality or flavour of a good fry though. A bit on dry side. Tea sadly tasted of chlorine in water.

Delicious coffee and treats, lovely atmosphere; music was chill and decor was beautiful, loved the little craft store on the upper floor. The staff were great; welcoming and helpful (we had two small kids with our group). Will definitely be back again, great spot with lovely views ☕Kid-friendliness: Staff were very nice to our kiddos, they had a wander about and looked at all the paintings..after delicious smoothies and rice krispie cakes.
