We went to The Galley chip shop this evening. We ordered a 6oz double decker cheeseburger with onions and red sauce a sausage bap with onions and red sauce and a 4oz double decker burger with red sauce.We placed our order at 17:17, at 18:00 we still had no food so I went to the till and asked what was going on and I was told there were a lot of app orders and our food wouldn't be too much longer. In the meantime there were several people who ordered after us and got their orders within 10 minutes of ordering!! We finally got our food at 18:10 nearly an hour after ordering!!When we finally did get our food our burgers were cold and like rubber and were completely drowned in red sauce

The Galley is a hidden gem! The most delicious food and lovely friendly a staff. I had the festive chips and they were unreal!! Highly recommend. It’s a must visit if you are around Kilkeel/Newcastle for breakfast, lunch, dinner or coffee and a bun; they have it all.

Stopped on Sunday and ordered a Scampi and lg chip and a large Cod supper and what I got wasn't brilliant at all. The Fresh Cod was nice but surrounded by a tasteless and unseasoned batter, which was a bit of a disappointment having heard so many rave reviews on this offering and seeing so many awards in the takeaway on display. The Scampi looked like it was the remaining batter remnants that float in the fryers in most chippies. And if it had of been tasty I wouldn't have passed much remarks but I wouldn't be rushing back to be honest. One positive is that the chip portion sizes were huge.

Managed to pop in at a good time and get a table straight away. Service staff were really friendly and the food was delicious. Wish I had of kept room for dessert cos they looked great! Would go back again.

Tables for a start were not overly clean, there was a strange smell in the place. But heard good reports so stayed to try the food... The young girl who showed us to the table looked like she would rather be elsewhere!Food... Well I got lasagne and chips. Chips were good no complaints, but the lasagne was oily and laces with what I could only describe as cheap cheddar cheese that looked like it had been microwaved! It was mostly cheese, giving it an oily overpowering taste! Lasagne should not taste like this... Was hardly any meat either.Salad would have been nice apart from the dressing.. This should be stated! As not everyone likes dressing.The garlic bread again was oily like someone just covered it with garlic butter and hoped for the best! My partners burger was good according to him and he enjoyed his chips but I thought the garlic chips looked far from appetising.Not everyone can eat greasy, oily food..deffo not worth the money.Highly overpriced for what they serve.

We were out for a drive and decided to stop at the Galley, we should have kept driving. We got a fish supper, sausage supper and a tub of curry sauce. The chips weren't great but improved when dipped in the curry. The biggest let down was the fish, it had soggy thick batter, I ate a few bites then gave up as it was so greasy. Won't be back.

Watch out if you’re paying with cash in this place. Got ripped off a tenner when i went to pay. First time in Annalong and first place i go into i get robbed

Called yesterday for late lunch and as usual we were not disappointed. The service and cleanliness of the restaurant was first class. Food was also beautiful and can’t wait to call again.
