Nice chips. The chicken goujons were lovely and had a nice batter on them.There's really not much to complain about. I would recommend, however, that you ask them to go a bit easier on the salt. The last time I got mine, it was flooding with salt.

We visited Joe's Hot Spot for a late lunch after a visit to the Exploris Aquarium. What started as a quick bite to eat before we set off became a lovely experience and a treat of delicious food. The owner is a very friendly chap, and the food was really delicious.The battered fish that I ordered from the menu was coated with a flavorsome and crunchy batter, whilst the fish inside was soft and juicy. Whatever their magic is, it kept the batter from being too soggy and bland with frying oil whilst also giving the batter a flavor of its own.Definitely one of our favorite places for fish and chips, well worth a visit. We look forward to going again when we next visit Portaferry.

Got 2 bags of chips after being at The Portico last night...... Best chips I've had in ages and they stayed warm all the way back to Strangford on the ferry . ??
