Hotel staff very helpful and very friendly a warm welcome and rooms where ready when we arrived. We had lunch with family members and the food was nice, especially the breakfast 100% but I found the food price a little bit too much for what I got for lunch but my family and I did enjoy our stay Thank you so much ❤️Rooms: A little bit small but still enjoyed our stay

The Fir Trees is a great spot for a beer, bite, and general chill. The menu is appealing, and the fare is invariably of the highest quality, with options to suit most palates.

Great place for dinner absolutely no room service you have to go up to the restaurant to order food to be delivered to ur room. Location is only 15 min walk from town centre. The bypass is a lovely walk beside it if you fancy a long walk. Can hear alot in other rooms. Room service should be part of a hotel experienceRooms: Nice rooms but hear everything from other rooms.Nearby activities: Not far from the town centre.Safety: Yes it's safe.Walkability: 15 mins walk to town centre but I believe they offer shuttle service now but not sureFood & drinks: Food is actually really good I haven't had a bad experience yet

I was at my nephews wedding at The Fir Trees Hotel and it was a disgrace, builders in the area we had to pass through and works going on while the wedding was taking place. The hotel was freezing we sat with coats on. The tea and coffee were cold on arrival and a sorry excuse for Shortbread it was so small you quite literally got 1 bite from it.The soup was way to salty the main was mediocre at best it was fried potatoes not roast potatoes. It amazes me that a hotel offers fried potatoes when it is clearly supposed to be properly Roasted potatoes as the name states roast potatoes. The deserts where awful it was supposed to be cheescake profiteroles and a little tart, the cheescake tasted just like cream the profiteroles where so soggy the tart was passable. The guy who carried the wedding Cake from the venue to cut for guests lifted it and laid it against his chest instead of getting a second person to help lift it out properly, it was not professional at all.The Red carpet was filthy they would have been better not to put one out if they couldn't be bothered to clean it.Very disappointing most certainly would not recommend this hotel in anyway shape or form.In all my years in customer service I have never been so disappointed with a wedding at a hotel.Very sad that the management team and wedding coordinatior found this was acceptable for anyone's wedding.

Only few bar staff on and bar was very busy long wait to be served drinks. No gin glasses which was not great esp for a hotel. Won't be back in a hurry.

Hotel has definitely seen better days. There was a stain on one of the pillows, marks and scuffs on the wall and ceiling and the most of the buttons on the tv remote didn’t work. The pictures of rooms on the website are different to the room we stayed in.However, staff was very friendly and the hotel isn’t too expensive.

Fir Tree Hotel worked out perfectly and a huge thanks to the receptionist there. We (my wife and I) were traveling from Lough Derg to Malin Head and got into a car accident between Lough Derg and Strabane. A local however was able to pick us up and they were able to get us checked in at the hotel here for the night. All the while we were working with the rental car company to get a replacement vehicle (which was very frustrating in and of itself.....from 5pm the night we got checked in, to around noon the following day). Yet the receptionist at the hotel went above and beyond trying to help us out. Our cell phones were not getting reception along with wifi. Yet she let us use her phone continuously as well as having constantly ran us notifications when calls came through. All on top of taking care of other guests. Quite hectic. Aside from the stress we were already feeling, we were able to feel a whole lot more relaxed with here assistance, at the restaurant (good food), or in the room (exactly what we needed). Zero complaints and if anything......THANK YOU!!!! Many times over

Your meau's need to be replaced. By newer one your one is dirty. The sweet menu is even worse. One good thing is your fish and chips 1st class. We are coming tomorrow for a meal all 3 of us. I

Went in for food with family for a birthday lunch, service was great to begin with but after we sat down it went downhill, 2 course meal we were there over 2 hours, took forever to order a dessert and waited even longer to get it. A member of staff approached us a few times with food we didn’t order, then another member of staff came and asked if we got our dessert we said no, I think the chef r the waitresses may have fallen asleep, we waited that long, we still had to wait. I’d see through it, if it was busy but it actually wasn’t. I have to say I wasn’t impressed at all with the service. Food was ok for a lunch menu, I’ve actually had nicer in here many a times, this was actually my favourite place to eat in the past, I may go find somewhere else now.

Definitely not as expected. Booked a standard double room for 2 adults and a child. Arrived to be met with 2 x singles and a blow up mattress in the floor. Would have thought the minimum would be a double and a single bed nowadays instead of a blow up mattress (all the spare mattress's were all piled up at the end of the corridor - not even stored away in a store room). We could get over that - not the end of the world but that wasn't the only issue. Cracked/broken tiles in bathroom, peeling paint around the sink, peeling/chipped paint on the bathroom units, paint around the mirrors (shoddy decorating as couldn't even clean the mirror of the paint) and what looked like a loose cover on the bathroom fan. According to the hotel when complaint was made this was a "newly refurbished room" - hate to see what the older rooms look like if the bathrooms are like this already. The kettle in the room was fine topping up with water in the sink but when you then pulled away due to the tap being so low you had to tilt the kettle and then tipped half the water out. The worst was trying to actually sleep (which is what you really go to a hotel for). The Hotel is next to an on site venue (Niche) and the room we were in (212) looked right out to the venue and car park. Again not an issue in itself but on the Saturday night even with the windows closed you could hear every word of both the disco in the venue and also the people milling around the carpark during and after the event (people still around until 2pm approx outside). I've added photos - can't add videos unfortunately to show how loud it was in the room with windows closed . Breakfast was OK. Nothing to write home about. Cooked breakfast with a small selection of cereals to help yourself to. Only 1 member of staff on at breakfast running between taking orders and bringing dishes out. Would say the meal in the bar (Martha's Bar) was nice however and even though busy they found room for us to eat on the Saturday. All in - baring in mind you can get Premier Inns, etc for cheaper and nicer this wasn't worth £100+ per night that we paid.
