We went there recently for dinner and it was really nice. The staff were great and the food was awesome. The portions were large and very good value. I also noticed it was dog friendly but not sure if this is limited to the bar area. There is plenty parking around the back in a public car park only a short walk away. Will definitely be back.

We booked a table for the new years eve party and everything about it was first class. Pre ordering your meal which was excellent to good spacing in between courses. Very attentive staff, friendly and happy to help no matter what. Thank you for a lovely evening we will be be booking again this year.

Food is delicious but needs to be served more organicly so you can actually eat it.Service was good.Decor is nice.Sadly, not a quiet place for a meal seemed to have a lot of locals sat at the bar with rather yucky tones and stories.Food & drinks: The food was delicious but served rather oddly.Starter seafood cocktail served in the large cocktail glass I get the concept but tricky to eat without worrying you would break the glass.Main course again nice food but served in a silly way that you can just eat it, you had to be an architect of your own food onto the plate.

We live locally and consider Lairds as our "go to " location for a night out . This time , we decided to have our New Year's Eve meal there and also stay over night . The meal was superb , 3 delicious courses with brilliant service from the staff, nothing was too much trouble . Colin and Gareth are superb hosts and there attention to detail was immaculate. After seeing the New Year in with a glass of bubbly we headed up to our room. It didn't disappoint WOW ! Large airy , super king super comfy bed , open fire with log burner , large roll top bath in the room .Double walk in shower in the toilet / wash room . After one of the best nights sleeps we have ever had (no it wasn't the drink ?) we headed down for a full English breakfast that was delicious and the same quality and standard as the previous nights meal . The Lairds House is absolutely superb and a credit to the owners he hard work . We will be booking for next year Oh , and it's dog friendly

Been open a couple of years I believe and as it’s only 10mins from ours, surprised we hadn’t called in earlier. We were told to sit where we would like and they’d be over to take our order. Sat down with drinks (which were put on our tab) and we both decided on the Lairds Steak & Ale pie as it sounded so nice with the mushy peas and homemade chips. We weren’t disappointed! Huge portions were placed in front of us. Now, we both love “proper” chips and had ordered extra as some places don’t offer enough. We shouldn’t have bothered with the extra, there were loads! The pie was covered with a proper thick gravy too. If I were to be picky (and it’s only a personal preference), I would have preferred a shortcrust pastry rather than the suet pastry topping, but that’s just me and I’m fussy! Don’t let that detract from the pie overall though, tender pieces of steak which was quickly downed along with a nicely poured pint of Guinness. We had to leave some of the sides, as our eyes were indeed bigger than our bellies on this occasion. We watched generous portions of fish and chips being delivered to other tables and agreed to return soon to try. The place is quirky with little snugs, restaurant and a nice downstairs area. Also dog friendly in the snug area. The last words have got to be for the staff. Simply they’re great. Very friendly, quick service and great craic too. The young girl with the long dark hair was so helpful and everything was with a smile. A place we could quite happily spend an afternoon in while town life passed us by outside. Highly recommended.

My meal of fish and chips couldn’t be faulted. Unfortunately some of the party had an issue with the temperature of their food and we did wait nearly an hour. I wouldn’t be put off by this as I have had many excellent meals before. To me service is important, and although we had a bit of a wait, . The staff are lovely and more than compensated us for our wait. I will certainly go back. The wine choices are usually good too.
