My sister, who lives in Morpeth brought me here twice.. The staff and the local’s were all very friendly and the pub has a welcoming atmosphere. I Had 2 pints of Landlord which was divine . I shall definitely come here again.

Love it. Proper pub.

Smashing real pub, 5 cask ales on offer. Take my advice and avoid the mainstream Doombar/Robinsons/Wainwrights and be rewarded by supporting the independent breweries ?
Ian Devere

Traditional locals wet-led pub (no food). Real ale orientated. Friendly, cosy front bar, comfortable lounge to the rear. Immaculate. Run by same family for over 30 years.Parking: Limited free on street parking to front, car park at rear. Main town centre car parks only 5 mins walk away, as is bus station.

We are a group of 20 walkers who organised a walk followed by a buffet at the Tap & Spile. The buffet was excellent and value for money. The staff as always were welcoming and friendly, giving us excellent service. The pub also has a good variety of beers on tap.
