Went here for the first time last week. Very impressed. Big, nice decor, people talk about the meals in glowing terms, but not eaten here yet myself. Looks promising.

Lovely building and setting in the village of Stannington. Went on a Sunday, got tempura prawns, lamb roast and sticky Toffee pudding. All GF, and a good sized Non Gluten menu available too. Will definitely be going back again soon.

Lovely pub, great selection of food and great place to eat with family.Dietary restrictions: Told the server what I wanted and that I had a dairy allergy and she was able to inform me about what was in it and if I could eat it or not.

Trio of meats is skimped upon and not freshly carved pork/beef. Chicken breast was roughly the amount you get on a wing! This said, veggies and Yorkshire pud bring a 4 star.

Lovely food.Bad service.Had to go and ask for someone to take our order. After clearing away the plates no one came to ask if anyone would like a dessert. Again we asked for someone to come and take our order. Two of us ordered liqueur coffees only to be told the coffee machine is turned off at 9pm!If that's the case then come and tell people so they can order coffee if wanted.I still find it ridiculous to turn off the coffee machine so early when customers are still having dessert and often have a coffee to finish.Very disappointed with the overall experience.

Nice pub, friendly staff. The fish was very nice but I couldn't get passed how greasy the chips were, the smell of the grease really put me off my meal. However the kids portions were very generous and overall I would go back and try something else.

Lovely food. Great serviceRecommend the smoked salmon scotch egg. And the fish and chips is as big as a whale!

Great welcome and very attentive staff, given the circumstances. Booked a table the previous day. The food was hot and well presented. A good place to eat after a 3 hour drive.

Really arms has an atmosphere its own like a genuinely old-fashioned country pub. The food, the decor the service and the attendees. Give you a sense of comfort and cosiness. I give it 11 out of 10Parking: I found a parking adequate and it’s worth the travel from Gosforth all the way up there and is immediately next to the motorway so it’s a clean easy traffic. Light roundabout free trip
