We went here for food and a drink after a long day walking in the hills. Great service, tasty meals, would definitely return.

Loads of food and great service. My Mother and I were served by a lady (charlotte) i think anyway she served me from the bar and brought the food to our table. What a polite and helpful person. (She can be identified by her tatoos on her right forearm. I only mention this so she gets the well deserved praise she deserves. Highly recommended for the food and the service. Thankyou.

We had a pleasant Sunday lunch here. Staff lovely. The place seems run down, all need

Staff are so lovely. The rooms are in need of modernisation, as the shower is poor. It was a lovely place to stay though.

Sadly our room was tiny and not particlarly nice, certainly nothing even close to the pictures on their site. Carpet pulled up in the corner and not replaced. Food was ok but nothing to write home about., breakfast sausages like skin full of sawdust. Only truly positive things I can say is the staff were nice and the place was clean.

Probably the smallest room ever stayed in. Very friendly staff and helpful. But place is very tired and in need of refurbishment

Friendly staff but I’m sorry to say we were disappointed with the hotel room & breakfast. The room was very small and tired looking. Same with the bathroom and it took a good 5 minutes for the water to warm up. We didn’t have the cooked breakfast so can’t comment on that but the cereal options were sugary and highly processed. No fresh fruit options -just tinned prunes & grapefruit slices which seems like an outdated breakfast choice to me. The orange juice was off and the coffee lukewarm. We stayed here for one night whilst doing the St Cuthbert’s Way and it was our most expensive night at £148 but definitely the worst place we stayed in. If we’d only paid £60 I wouldn’t have left a bad review but for the money we paid this was very poor. I’m sure there must be better options in Wooler. I wish I’d done more research before booking.

Nice and clean rooms with friendly staff. Would recommend and at the right price, however now in July the price has almost doubled to £150+ per room and in no way it this hotel was worth this price. My original stay was in March 2023 was going to book again but not at this price. Shame as the staff where nice.

Had a lunchtime meal. We both had burgers, my roll was gluten free. It tasted ok , but the salad on the side needed a dressing it was dry and didn't look fresh. Chips were dry and cold. Was disappointed as previous reviews said food was great. I agree with a review saying it was dated. The toilets need a deep clean, cobwebs and a bit dirty on the lower edges. Staff were great and chatty. I wouldn't say it was great but just ok.
