Sounds like an exaggeration but one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had eating out. In the city you could easily add another £20-£30pp. Generous portions, very nicely cooked and a good selection of extras and desserts. Coming again soon.Kid-friendliness: Bought our two young boys in her. Plenty of space. Welcoming landlady and great food options

Lovely people, lovely atmosphere, but sorry food wasn’t up to scratch for the price , I had burnt frozen fries , gammon with brown grease , dry garden peas , greasy brown pineapple, but lovely onion rings ? went home hungry ?

Last Thursday myself and 3 friends decided to go in for lunch at 1pm.We were the only people in for food now I know why .We ordered 3 hunters chicken 1 fish and chips one of the hunters chicken was with a jacket..When it eventually arrived we had never had hunters chicken like it before.. They were all dried up you couldn't see the sauce or bacon on the chicken it was that dried up ..The jacket potato was so hard and the chopped up bit of salad looked like it was a week old ..My friends fish was also dried up..we never complained at the time because one of my friends had had a really bad morning and we didn't want any more upset ..Only good thing was the coffee..All the meals looked like they had been thrown together in the air fryer for ages ..All in all the worst meal we have had at a pub.

We live in a village in Wiltshire and were visiting family in Rainworth, we decided to try the local pub for Sunday lunch.. You had the choice of three meats and either a classic or premium roast. I had the classic beef it was tender and succulent. Peas, roast potatoes, parsnips,Yorkshire pudding carrots creamed potatoes and red cabbage with extra gravy if you wanted it. Also crisped parsnip skins.. It was excellent value for money, cooked to perfection. It was all served by friendly staff. Would certainly come back..

It's nice local pub, with reasonable bear and food.Introduce ordering at the table, and it would make the restaurant experience much better. Lovely restaurant area though!I understand they run some good events, but never been to one. Good community feel here.

A really good place to eat and drink, or to simply relax and socialise. pet and family friendly with a lush interior which is spacious with private seating areas and privacy to speak without being overheard. The drinks are poured well whether it be spirits lager beer or wine. I felt comfortable and relaxed with amazing bar service and friendly relaxed atmosphere. The Sunday lunch was epic with extras if you wanted it. Highly recommended.

Haven't been since it reopened. Sorry we hadn't been sooner. Our barman/server was very nice and professional Gammon steak. Beautiful and no waste. Chicken burger. Tasty with the cheese topping and it had a Fabulous zing to it. We will be back and can now recommend it to friends.

Lived here 25 years and have always used this venue as like to support local venuesNew ownersNice warm light night and went out for meal and decided to leave that venue early and call in at our local the Lurcher for a night cap although only 9.25 pmClosed the doors and locked them as we approached said doorsLooked on website and states closes at 11 pmIt is no good expecting locals to support you if you simply close at random hours because its not profitable .A pub is a local service and should be available to drop in at anytime within the stated opening hours after all you yourselves tell us that’s when your business is availableThis is the problem with the management running local pubs now who don’t want to put in the effortWhen you have to close due to lack of trade please do not cry on Facebook and blame the locals for not supporting you as some of us tried
