Three of us had a very enjoyable lunch at FL this week. 2 starters (pate) and 3 mains (steak and frites) plus 2 bottles of house red and a bottle of tap water.Everything, the food, the wine, the service, was excellent. Well done to all at FL.

A genuine and authentic French restaurant with homemade style French cuisine. A real gem of a find. Highly highly recommended to all French cuisine lovers. The staff are very attentive and the service is excellent!

This is my Husband's favourite restaurant in Nottingham. We have been coming to French Living for more than 20 years. The food and service are always superb.

Best lunch ever - the lentil salad was OUT OF THIS WORLD and the fries are the tastiest in Nottingham (they are what keeps me coming back)!

Lovely welcoming restaurant. Good very good and the house wine (red).Slightly limited lunch menu on the day we went, but will go back for an evening meal soon.

Our first visit for a pre-theâtre dinner.Every dish was excellent, especially given the price of the Menu du Jour.If you want "fancy, fussy and pretentious"", this is not for you. If you want fresh, seasonal, flavoursome ingredients cooked extremely well (the hake was perfect) you should give this friendly family-run restaurant a try. We'll be back for the Menu du Saison as soon as we can make it.Having the bill arrive tucked into a well read copy of Molière's L'Ecole des Femmes was a lovely touch.

I've been to a lot of restaurants at all price points and this is my second time here. It is a quirky place and they do offer interesting french food. We went for a pre-theatre dinner so I ordered steak frites with blue cheese sauce. The sauce was so salty I had to scrape it off to eat the steak which was at best average. With regards to the service, they certainly captured the french ambivalence towards the English. I'm sure they have some great food and some will love it but it will be my last time there I'm afraid.

Makes a nice change to a branded restaurant, however this visit on my recommendation, lacked. We were in the basement, been there before, its ok, this time, cold. The gentleman looking after the area was not the chatty sort. Food was ordered, starters fine, mains not as tasty as I've had before - the menu du jour - steak frites - steak pretty chewy and slathered in an onion sauce, carrots delicious. White sausages pretty bland. It was fine, fairly priced value, just lacking as an experience with the server offering zero interaction. If I go again I would ask to be upstairs where it seemed a lot better atmosphere.

A great way to start an evening at the Theatre. Excellent service and a warm atmosphere. Never fails to delight. Good value too. Thanks to the team.Stewart and Helen.

Excellent pre-theatre meal. The atmosphere is great, the staff fantastic and the food absolutely delicious. So glad that we have found a small independent restaurant serving typical French food.
