Situated opposite the DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum, we visited after seeing the museum. Named after Lawrence’s first published novel the Cafe is as much of gem as the museum. Warm, welcoming and quirky. The staff are a delight. The menu is extensive and full of good old fashioned British dishes. Excellent meals and superb prices. Has a nostalgic feel of visiting a relative who fed you up with substantial, tasty food when you were a nipper. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

A pleasant cafe opposite the D.H Lawrence museum and near the town. Food was good and there was a lot of choice. The fresh cakes looked good and the prices are more than reasonable.

Top nosh at very reasonable prices. Popped in to wait out the rain before continuing on our cycle tour. Had a Sunday roast beef followed by Apple pie and custard. Paul works wonders in such a small kitchen. And the waitress/helper was very easy on the eye.Lots of local characters. Enjoyed chatting to Christine. She brought some cheer to a very damp moist day.Enjoy your holiday in Skegness.
